Mistake after mistake... yes, not the brightest of choices.
The principal sounds like a nice guy, understanding that kids make wrong choices, but he can only stretch it so far. It still sounds like you got off easy. Now, about next time...
Excellent story. You have a great narrative voice. Thanks for sharing.

true, true. It would have been better if you had confessed about your firecracker escapade to your parents. I enjoyed reading this slice of your boyhood... Thanks for posting...I wish I had a six******

This boy really did have a few bad days. his teenage brain was doing bavkflips I reckon. An amusing tale about sometimes having to learn our lessons the hard way. I enjoyed it and was thankful he wasn't mine LOL.
Cheers

I loved this. It not only gave me some good chuckles but I thought your use of voice for the 15 year old was great. It had a kind of Stephen King tone to it. Only not scary. The plot was amazing.

Wow, you were surrounded by folks that kept you on the straight and narrow. Fireworks were like Coca-Colas in my native Georgia. Everyone had them and they were legal. My brothers were pyromaniacs. The blew up my Barbie Corvette, for pity sake. Nobody arrested them, except for me. Robbie's still on probation.
A delightful read of the things we did that we wish we hadn't.
Sending you my best today as always.

Sally. Thanks for the great review. Sorry your bro is still on probation. Double secret probation (from one of my favorite movies, Animal House). Fireworks are illegal here in NJ.
Enjoy your weekend?
Cheers,
John

It's funny how poor decisions proliferate in the hope one "may get away with it" but somewhere, somehow, every sin we commit has its consequences, the problem is someone else pays for our wrongdoing. Beautifully written, John I once threw firecrackers at the girls while waiting for the school bus, when the principle warned there would "dire" consequences for anyone caught, there was a teacher standing where I couldn't see him...ouch! Well done my friend, blessings Roy

I enjoyed reading your very interesting story. I know we all make bad choices when we are young, but this was a doozy. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

This is prerry amusing since I was not you nor your parent. My youngest daughter did stuff like that. Were you the baby in th family? Connie left a trash can on fire and in the girl's bathroom, got suspended and didn't tell.

Thank you for reading.

Making the right decision isn't always easy for a young person. The parents really need to help with the guidelines early on.
I did enjoy your story and thank you for sharing it.

Thank you, Lisa for taking the time to read my post. I do appreciate it and your time.
Question - where do you see room for improvement in my story? Or are there corrections needed that I can make to my post?
These typically are required with three and four star rewards.
Thank you in advance.

Oh I did not realise that typically when reviewing one needs to leave more detailed advice... I will look at your work again now..

Gosh, as I am new to this site I really hate to say too much... but, here it goes.
I feel that your story was good but it needed a moral ending.. It was just too light and easy for him with little consequence...The fact that he should have listened to his sister doesn't justify any of his actions.
I read through you words several times...

John,
I loved this well-written humorous story.
You sound like my brothers who used to get into trouble at school. (They turned out alright, though.)
Your writing is clear and concise, and your ending is great.
Good luck with this one, John!
