"Life Without a Net" is written in an interesting way. It is enjoyable to read. I look forward to your next chapter.
? = "...nurse in the apartment next store" Does this mean 'next apartment store' or does it mean 'next door'?

Yes, you're absolurlry correct, we don't have a guaranteed life span, we are all at the mercy of what's written, or in another explanation, "what will be, will be", so we should live every day as if it was our last. Thank you for your sheer honesty, well done, blessings Roy
Typo : In the apartment next (store) door?

This is a poignant story. I can relate to so much of it related to the nursing home. I was a director of nurses for many years. It can be joyful and heartbreaking at the same time. You did a great job. Have a blessed day. Shirley

This is a very compelling story. I was intrigued buy it and when your last comment in the Notes section you said that you Learned many things by spending Time with the elderly, I believe that today Young people are missing out on the things that they can learn by not spending time with with the elderly. I believe in miracle's and it is likely you wee cured by God. It is also true you could have been misdiagnosed. Mental illness isn't always due to something incurable. Maybe if you had continued in the military, you might have died or worse had your faith destroyed. I'm glad you were able to get the man from the buring building even though it was too late to save his life. You would have always wondered if he'd burned. I love your story.

Wow, this had so much in one chapter, but I was able to catch up with your life story quite a bit in this one. We've had similar lives in ministry and dependent on the grace of God. I'm glad to see you well and writing. God bless you good.

What a fascinating and well -written write! The detail of your description and imagery of nature really bring this prose to life and the pace of the story engages the reader all the way through. There is great poignancy here (and I'm not sure if it relates to the writer) but it feels like he has sought escape from any commitment as a means to salvage what is left of his mental health. Small edit: 2nd para - when (you're) older. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Wow! So much in this chapter that is noteworthy. You are a miracle to live without those drugs and perhaps that is why you are healthy because some of those drugs really affect the brain in a bad way affecting the memory. But God took you to a place where you could serve others and save others! You risked your own life to get Mel out and helped get the nurse from the next door. Bless you for trusting God with this part of your life.

Out of six. This is a good phrase. A few months later winter found our fortress, bringing with it ice and snow. The self-sufficient elderly ones were dropped off from a field trip. Mr. Cooley was among them. Filing out, he slipped and broke his hip from which he never recovered. Then he got sent down to a room on the first floor--a death sentence. When I visited him, the spark in his eyes was forever gone.
Very strong.---- I was stationed at Fort Carson.
