Oh, I am laughing with you...but never AT you! I could write a similar list of the many ways in which I can delay, deny, put off, or convince myself I must have done that thing! My kids joke that I should join a procrastinator's club...but I keep putting that off! (smile)

Well done on this, Debbie, giving us something to laugh about. I appreciate you sharing this description of your day. I especially liked the illustration: "You feel like an old steam engine train that stopped on its tracks to let a cow cross and is slowly going in reverse."

Hi Anne, it makes me feel so good that you liked my story. What it was that I loved best is that by sharing an exaggerated version of it with everyone, I got so many storied back that just blessed me completely. And I actually thought about chucking it in fear it was too far out there. So thank you again.
Also Anne, could you send me a little bit about yourself that you wouldn't mind sharing with others as I am preparing for my surgeries and right now my Vision is almost one big blurr, so I am slower than normal. Thank you so much and I do look forward to your birthday.

You are welcome, Debi. I will think about your request and try to send you something in the next couple of days. this past week I was concentrating on writing my devotions and haven't spent a lot of time on here.

Okay, you had me worried that you were being overwhelmed. We all have our oddities. I cannot get away fast enough if faced with a fight or flight situation. I used to have five cats, My husband has Aspergers and his collection includes a house full of windup clocks (I stopped counting after 50) and there are 100 old tube radios.
So we all have our quirks that make life interesting.
Best wishes,
Mary

This is an excellent piece of non fiction work. Your subject of procrastination has put me to shame.
I feel I am worse than you. You recognize it and you do something about it.
I only deal with it when problems occur.
I like your attitude. You can take it with laughs I do nii or thing but regrets.
Thanks for sharing.

I think a lot of us have the same problem. The other day, I put some sugar water on the stove to bring to a boil for the hummingbirds. While it was coming to a boil, I figured I would take the trash to the burn barrel. On the way back to the house, I noticed my moonflowers were coming up, which led me to check the rest of the flowers, which led to pulling some weeds, etc. About a half hour later, I remembered the sugar water and ran into the house. It had boiled down to nothing and turned brown. So, see, you are not the only one. Lol. Nice writing.

I thank you for this awesome review and comments. I had no idea when I wrote this I would have such wonderful stories shared back with me and be so enlightened with so many who found it relatable. I love your story you shared with me too, my dear friend.

OMGosh, do I recognize myself in that rant! lol. Yup, all of it. Oh, and I eavesdrop. But that's part of writing good dialogue, so it's excused. So is talking to yourself. Same excuse. Good dialogue must be spoken aloud to make sure it's good. lol
I enjoyed this, Debi.
On a different note, how are y'all doing? I know losing someone is so hard. Still praying for that little family.
Blessings,
Deb

I had no idea when I wrote this I would have such wonderful stories shared back with me and be so enlightened with so many who found it relatable. I love your story you shared with me too, my dear friend. The funeral is coming up on Friday and I think that will be the hardest! Thanks for being such a caring friend!

Hmmmm.
Well written? I guess that would be the appropriate thing to say (especially since it's true).
I hope the mountains are not that high, and the valleys not that low.
And always keep your meds handy!
Best wishes.

Haha! Wayne, that last comment in my story was just trying to be funny. The way to end the story with a little twist. I am on no medications for anything except my lupus. For years they had me on so much stuff that I think the meds caused much of the issues I talked about. I made them take me off almost everything and feel mentally better than ever before. But you know Wayne, I think FS has had a lot to do with it. Being among so many great friends here, and so many wonderful writers, how can you help but not feel great? Thanks for the kind comments about my story. I appreciate it my dear friend.

We all have our quirks. Isn't that what makes life fun? If we were all perfectly "normal" things would be so predictable and so boring. Thank you for sharing this humorous look into a little craziness. We all have some.

You are such a gifted writer that I wanted to give you a one star for making me believe most of this. I was glad to read that though it's true, you exaggerated the hell out of it.I was ready to fly to Minnesota to lend a hand!
You're a devilish woman Debi... (smiles)

Oooh you be careful or I may get so used to you being such a wonderful guy that I might invite you here myself. Oh naughty girl!
But thank you and you are right. And some people think I have it all together, because I put on that persona. Deep down inside I can be a bit of a rebel. I am classified as too nice and even my kids call me Pollymama. So that rebel likes to break out here and there and have some fun. Have you ever heard Karenina and me referring to our Thelma and Louise. We joke about it in posts all the time. The poem I wrote called Karenina had a fall, tells a little. Anyway, so I let loose and highly exaggerated this about having these issues. It actually got a lot of others to admit the same. Lol...
Thanks so much John for making my week with the kindest review and comments and of course your sweet six stars. I know I have told you this before, but tell your wife she is a lucky woman...
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
Excellent! I enjoyed this but did get a little worried as the story progressed so am glad to know things aren't quite as bad as you express, albeit so well! That said, so many of these aspects I believe we all share. We're living in a world that is constantly vying for our attention. Of course we can't even switch the computer on without being bombarded by ads, cookies and the like. And some of those deadly boring jobs like housework that we've done for so long? Of course we get side-tracked by more interesting things like Fanstory! Your prose cleverly raised so much thought-provoking material I could go on and on - but won't because I have things to do:) Thanks Debi! Debbie

Haha Debbie exactly! Since being on FS, so many things do get left undone. But oh well, if I thought about my physical ailments and problem I would cry more. But instead I choose to laugh at myself and then things don't seem so bad. Thanks for your fun and kind comments my sweet friend.

You're very welcome. I would just add one thing my dear late Mother once said (and did): Always do the worst thing first - as in ironing in particular. Take care and keep laughing through those ailments - you seem to be doing an excellent job!
