I have been blessed with great kids. Truly not because I'm their mom. I've many compliments on them through the years, even though I have often wanted to strangle them. LOL Thank you for the support.

What a wonderful way to have some cherished memories. I need to do something like that for my mom. She doesn't like to write down things, but I need to figure out some way to record her life.

I've have to be sneaking about recording. I've tried it and she stops talking. But I'll give it another try. Maybe I can can use my phone to record. She might not suspect that.

Or just lesson and write it down when she's not around.

This should be a very exciting project, Barb. It might be a little challenging to write a letter to someone who is twenty years old, while looking into a face that is five years old.

I got my idea of writing poems for every birthday of my wife, children and grands, from my son in lawâ??s grandmother, who wrote Godâ??s love to all her grandchildren, to be opened after she died! That's an easy answer, although you may not think of it. I got my idea of writing poems for every birthday of my wife, children and grands, from my son in lawâ??s grandmother, who wrote Godâ??s love to all her grandchildren, to be opened after she died! I once bought a "diary" titled "My Mother's Life." It had 350 prompts, and I spent a year writing something in it each day. Using the daily prompt, I wrote about family my children didn't know, past loves of my life (that was hard to share), traditions and where they came from, etc. I gave it to my daughter first, then she passed it to her brother.
My advice to you is to write about things they will never know unless you tell them. It may be hard to do occasionally, but they will treasure your words.
I think this is a great gift for you, and I look forward to reading your letters. Thank you for sharing them with us.

80,000 words? Good Lord, that's a lot. My stories are haibun with 300 words, more or less.... lol.

Pay no attention to naysayers. They will suck the life out of you. If I get just one grumpy reviewer, I ignore it. But if I got a lot, I'd pay attention.
