I enjoyed your story about the Jack Daniels just distillery. I don't drink alcoholic drinks since I was 19 years of age. By the time I was 19 I have been drunk three times and I had a problem because of it each time so I determined that if I couldn't drink without having problems I wasn't going to drink it all. I've enjoyed this next episode of exploring distilleries. I am puzzled by the mention of barrels on the hills around the JD distilleries. Is the whiskey inside them, or are they used and therefore mostly meant to be decorative?

I liked your article about your drink of choice. Some like alcohol and some don't. And that's how it should be. Some can enjoy it and some gets addicted to it, which is tragic.
I love a glass of red wine with my main meal. I live in Spain, after all. A very well written article. Ulla:)))

When I was imbibing, I liked to drink mine with Coke. It has a good taste. Thanks for explaining more of the process. I am sorry you have CA. Are you on oral chemo as my husband is? I hope you have a wonderful evening. Shirley

With corn, rye and barley, I guess someone who has a liquid lunch could claim it was a vegetarian lunch. You are educating me on something I didn't realize was that interesting. I'm surprised, if Jack Daniels is in a dry county, they could still have liquor tasting and cocktails at the distillary. I didn't know there drinking was prohibited with those with skin cancers. I would that 86 proof applied directly might be enough to burn it away. Which distillery is on Monteagle? I've seen signs of tours while in that area

I'm not a drinker. Upon occasion I will have one. Couldn't tell you what liquors go into wat cocktails but I am just fascinated by stills and how alcohol is made. I did find it incredible that the county where it's manufactured is a dry one. Gretchen

Family members who used to invite me to cookout and gatherings used to always ask if me and my brother Jack would be coming, since they knew I was likely to always have a bottle or two of Black Jack with me wherever I might be. LOL. But like you, I don't drink at all anymore. Coffee, unsweet tea, and water are the strongest things I drink. Thanks for sharing.
