I am a big pet owner and I could easily connect to your engaging entry.
My Paco ( a Siamese ) went through a similar situation.
When my mother passed away , I adopted her bunch of furry felines.
Pete used to be the alpha thought he would be so even in my house.
Paco was older but stood his ground.
The tension you could cut with a knife at times.
I loved them both but they sure kept me alert and on my toes.
I thought your narrative was very engaging .. pets do get jealous and I could feel Gus' daily drama.
I'm quite disappointed to see it only has two votes ( sigh)
Heck , where are all the pet lovers??

This was a very humorous account, to say the least. It reminds me of some animals I've dealt with. Boy, can those dogs ever pass some devastating gas! It is nearly deadly. Best of luck!

What a fun poem! Your dogs sound like they have a lot of personality, and the rhyming couplets were great in adding to the humorous tone of the piece. One suggestion I might make would be to play around with a more structured syllabic order between your lines. I think it helps poems to read smoother, especially with a more humorous piece it would give it more cadence and a lyrical flow. Keep up the great work!

my cellphone. Typing from
my cellphone is an adventure
in wonkyville. The FS Admin
then arranges my words
better to fit and not be too
wide. But, I do think I should
perhaps make some poems
lines shorter. I really appreciate hearing your opinion, and thank you for
