Hooray! You had Livvy become a heroine in this as she helped to deflect the final shot! And because Ben already won the respect of the Utes, we know they will take care of him. Maybe he'll have a new mission field!

Thank you. I think it was you who inspired to to not allow Livvy to merely be the 'damsel in distress'. (smiley face here)

Hooray again! A Fanstory fan has so much more sway on the plot!

Ben will be safe. I gather the Utes are Indian tribes. In Australia a ute is a vehicle (utility, like a pick-up truck) so I was a bit startled at first. An excellent chapter, Wayne. Well done.

    Thank you.
Yes, the Ute Indian tribes inhabited the Rockies of Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. For the most part (until provoked beyond tolerance) they are peace-loving.

It's good the Indians have come to help since they know Ben. He has made many friends with his calm faith. I think a wounded man would groan, not scream. Also, you do have a garbled sentence: We'll worry about after that . . . I think a shoal refers to low water, but I could be wrong about that. Poor Ben is really taking a beating in this story, but his faith is constant.

Thank you for your great review.
shoal in my White River experience is fast water over a bed of large rocks, like a flattened cascade. But looking at a dictionary, I can see how many readers might see it otherwise. Thank you.

This is another excellent chapter. It is interesting to have the Indians show up. They had undocumented healing plans that were better than the white man of those times. That's at least my opinion. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thank you. I agree about the Indians. Also, frontier doctoring wasn't too good, especially concerning infections.

Having missed a few chapters, I'm a bit out of the story as a whole, but as usual your chapters read easily as short stories. However the tone seems to have changed since the last time I read. As a whole perhaps this is not the best thing really. kay

Yes, it started out as an innocent young man just starting out with a heart for following God's call. In the last few chapters he not only met with more serious evil, but once got ahead of God and was injured. He now suffers from after effects, though he still has God's heart.

This was an exciting chapter, Wayne. Ben has suffered a very close call, but there are a lot of people who care about him, and he seems to be in good hands now. It's a shame Salinger was able to get away scot free except for spendig the night in an outhouse, but a miserable person like that will most likely get his due eventually.

Ben seems to find trouble almost wherever he goes, but I guess that's the fate of someone who's trying to rescue people in trouble and fight evil.

I'm excited to hear the next chapter. Jim

There was certainly a lot of action in this chapter, Wayne.
Salinger has failed at his attempt to kill Ben and he has escaped after hiding all night in the outhouse. Good place for him I would say. We know Ben is wounded and in bad shape but we also know he is in God's hands and will survive.
Well done, Wayne. Nancy:).

This was another violent chapter. Ben is wounded again but still alive and Salinger has left town. I was hoping he would have been killed but apparently not. Livvy has at least been rescued without have to do anything other than wear clothes and makeup she hated. She stood at the right time as God had instructed her.

Thank you. I was prompted (maybe by you) to not let Livvy merely be a damsel in distress.
