Thank you for sharing this emotional poem, yet gives hope with organ transplants. I didn't see any way to improve this poem. I enjoyed reading. Good write.

    Thanks Regina.
    "Silence"
    (4 your Eyes Only)
    Within the Silence...
    The Darkness long ago....
Within a beat of this Fathers Broken Heart....
    One Life Long, Lost...
    But Four that will Start...
    ...
    As the WIND..
    CARRRIES this Earths SINS...
LIFE TIS TOO SHORT TO TARRY.
Yes, as I have no choice...
    A voice as Eye carry...
    The Worlds Pains...
    Soon
    Only
    Death.
    Remains...
    24.

I've pondered your work, Dr. Ricky, and I must confess that I find myself in a mess. Is your focus on organ donations? Or is it focused on the loss of your son, Jason. That's what your poem highlights.

"Pain and blame" also figure in. Did Jason die needlessly? Was he careless? Or was he unwilling to consider a heart transplant? My last hunch is a stretch. Jason died "so long ago"; hence, a time before heart transplants were possible. . . .

Then, again, maybe your pain is still so raw as to prompt you to appeal to potential donors NOW to save a precious life NOW.

====================================
So now I turn my attention to your title. Does "heartly" exist? Let's see:

heartily · â??with obvious pleasure and enthusiasm. to laugh/sing/eat heartily. Join us · â??in a way that shows that you feel strongly about something. I heartily ...

So I conjecture that you meant your title to be, Heartily Worth the Heart [Transplant]. Did I get that right?

Peace and joy in telling your story,

Interesting what you had commented here. You didn't review the quality of the work and yes there was organ transplant ability over 20 years ago probably even 10 years earlier than that I would suggest that. You reread what I read think about it as a writer not a theologist.

We were both wrong. The first took place 56 years ago. On 3 December 1967, Dr. Barnard transplanted the heart of accident victim Denise Darvall into the chest of 54-year-old Louis Washkansky, with Washkansky regaining full consciousness and being able to talk easily with his wife, before dying eighteen days later of pneumonia, largely brought on by the anti-rejection drugs.

I was unable to review the quality of your work while I was sorting out what was your focus.
