As if learning to walk wasn't hard enough, though the parent birds do encourage and help, it would be a very terrifying fall if they do not succeed, very well written****kahpot

Your poem is so realistic. That is exactly what happens when the baby birds hatch and mature enough to fly. They do fall out of their nest sometimes and drop to the ground. The mama birds watch over their young, too. When a person gets near the baby bird, the mamas sing their frightening cry.

Even though I don't know the rules about haikus other than the syllable count, I still enjoy them. Yours set a mood and pricked up my anxiety. The fallen chick, will it be eaten by a predator. Will the mother bird protect it? All these thoughts race around in my head as a storm approaches. Great job. Gretchen

I understand many reviewers have no experience or a little and that is why I always add links to reputable internet sites that back up the rules I add in my author notes. With haiku, each reader may have a different interpretation to the same haiku and that is okay. I heard stories of baby birds falling off the nest and the mother doesn't rescue it giving her attention to the birds in the nest. However, the mom watches the baby bird, feeds, and protects. The way the haiku is written, the mood is sad so probably goes towards the first choice.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and review my haiku :)

Is this guy just said to see a baby bird that has fallen from his nest. As it flops around on the ground. Some of them make it and some don't. I enjoyed your poem very much. Have a blessed day. Patricia.

What a wonderful haiku, Gypsy. The dual pictures were mind blowing because they showed the dark clouds, the blue flowers and the chick that accidently fell from the nest. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

How beautifully you portrayed the final times of the fallen chick - to arouse great sympathy. This haiku is done excellently and the picture matches perfectly. An event I had almost forgotten until reading your haikus was many, many years ago' when I was teaching poetry to a junior high school class and they were writing haikus, a Japanese men, who was visiting, stepped into my room to see what my students were doing and talked a bit about the haiku in Japan. He left me a book of haiku, which I treasured for many years, till it disappeared.

It must have been wonderful to have a Japanese man's feedback on haiku.

Thank you for sharing this complete and beautiful package with us. I enjoyed reading. It's always so sad when a baby bird falls from the nest. I always worry a cat or something will get it.

I remember when we once found a baby bird fallen out of nest, we took it inside, to protect it from the birds, we rung the RSPCA, and they told us to put it on a branch and the parents would rescue it, sure enough when checked on it,it was gone, so well done Gypsy, blessings Roy

Hello Gypsy :)
I enjoyed reading your haiku.
I like the likening of the droopy flowers to the chick who is not yet ready to use his wings.
The imagery is clear and your presentation is beautiful.
Best wishes as always, Debra :)
