I understand the hornets in some places of Japan are tremendously larger.
And since we've taken over there f presented.
ace they come into ours.
So what they do is they watch for them and capture only one.
They do not kill it they tie a small and tiny cloth onto the insect and Let It Go.
They watch with a pair of high powered binoculars to wear the nest is located.
At night in hazmat suits they smoke out the nest which of course kills them all to protect the community.
Here in New Jersey where pestered basically with yellow jackets and yes they do love sweets.
We see them at the picnics they will land on an apple or anything and they have every right and privilege to.
Do not pester anything like this let it do its thing respect and you won't be harmed.
Well presented and good luck with your contest entry.

Thanks so much for reviewing my post. I have bee traps set around the house. My two boys are highly allergic to bee stings so one sting could mean their death. I have to protect them above all else.

Attacks on personal safety is certainly something to rant about and severe allergies are very threatening to health. Where do you live? I don't think we have hornets here in southern New Zealand, but other stinging insects such as bees and wasps can cause allergic reactions.

Hornets, wasps and their ilk - who the heck made those nasty things? At least bees make honey, perform essential pollination duties, and aren't too cranky. Look after yourself - Julie

Agreed on the honey and we use it a lot. Thanks so much for reviewing my post. I have bee traps set around the house. My two boys are highly allergic to bee stings so one sting could mean their death. I have to protect them above all else.

In Aus. we have lovely little native bees who don't sting. Unfortunately don't make much honey either, but some filled an unused latch-hole in my front door frame with honey. Didn't notice till my hair got caught in it. So I've bought them a little house. Stay safe, Julie

I don't blame you for staying as far away as possible from hornets or any other bees. If you are allergic, a sting can make you really sick. Your well chosen words very creatively described you reaction to bee stings. "If I get stung cover your ears It's then I scream and shout." Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

I wouldn't go near those dive bombs either, Annie.
You did a great job with your contest entry. It had
smooth flow and good rhymes. The subject was
well expressed in 'rant' style.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Thanks so much for your kind review. I appreciate your time. I think I just sprayed a queen that was trying to start a nest.

Well, your "rant" is one of the sweetest ones I've ever read - not angry at all, just annoyed and alarmed. And it rhymed and flowed beautifully!
Great job with your contest entry - good luck:-)

With an allergy to bee stings, you have every reason to want to rant. You have managed to make your rant light and humorous. Do be careful and enjoy your weekend.

Hornets can be very tenacious and will not leave us alone in the summer. I had a picnic with a friend in the park and they were drawn to the sandwiches! A fine write Annie, love Dolly x

Yikes! I'm so sorry that you have such severe allergies and I hope you stay free and clear of those hornets. I haven't seen them here yet but it's a bizarre spring with some trees blooming late and others too early. And the pollen count must be astronomical.
Best wishes in the contest!

Well done on this entry for the Rant contest. Yes, hornets can be dangerous. I haven't seen any this year yet, but like you, I am very careful when they are around as I had a bad reaction to a sting years ago.
