Hi K.
"Mumur of Myself" is relevantly beautiful and metaphorically brilliant. It has a deepness that teeters on comprehensible but leaves us with the image of an unsettled soul. Gorgeous, K. Olsen! Best, JohnC

This is a beautiful and sophisticated verse. It uses the imagery of singing as a theme throughout to convey an outpouring of the soul which, whilst not in outward expression for the writer, is "defiant" in its reverberation in her heart. I love the idea of the heart singing, the feeling that is completely your own which doesn't have to be broadcast from the rooftops but is just as valid. The repetition of the three line stanza "How does one sing..." is exquisite and gives skilful cohesion and heart-felt impact to an excellent poem. No difficulty of expression here! Well done! Debbie

This is lovely and I wish I had six stars left to give you. The repetition of your lines "How does one sing of their own self when silence swallows the music it seems everyone else can hear? is very effective in emphasizing the feeling of alone and different, but having something to sing about.

Hello :)
It's not often that I hit the 'read' tab on here, I usually just read what falls into my message box from the writers I follow, but for some reason, today I ventured from my message box and was lucky enough to stumble into your beautiful poem.
The title definitely piqued my interest. Your writing is honest and raw, everything is right there on display - no more, no less than the words you want to say. Your language is clear and simple and I related to the theme so much. I won't quote your words back to you, but please know that I enjoyed them all!
Best wishes, Debra :)

Brilliant, touching, emotional, relatable, beautiful. I was going to pull out a few favourite lines to say I loved, but I love them all. This is gorgeous writing with vibrant images and beautiful phrasing.

very good!
Can you really not carry a tune? I have noticed, through the years, that in places where the congregation sings, church, meetings, sports events, etc, it's the person who can't carry a tune who sings loudest. Always tickles me.
However, if you can't and you don't, I'm sure that it's frustrating and sad; but it sounds to me like you don't sing out loud at home. Why not? what a relief to sing along with music and enjoy!!!
No, you sound like a very sensitive person and singing in your heart is not only a lovely expression, but puts a smile in this reader's face.
"I'm singing in my heart" sounds like a good title for a book, or story. :)
