This poem would be perfect for the betrayal poem contest. The pain and hurt really comes through. The ending is powerful because of the US that could have been forever dissipating into nothingness.

Stunning verse with equally stunning image. I really enjoyed reading this and absorbing the heartfelt sentiments. It's a great verse form and though it is free you've structured it so well that it feels metered and rhyming. I'm very impressed, Gypsy and would like to try it myself at some point....maybe (with more confidence). Take care Debbie

I believe bonds work better if one's dependence isn't quite in the "smothering" department, but this is beautifully written, though really in the young relational department, I had one of these and it didn't work, heh heh, beautiful written Gypsy, superbly so, blessings Roy
