Well, these two are meant for each other - brought together by peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Interesting how they agree about everything and yet are willing to try some new variations.
Congrats on placing in the contest!

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. I happen to be a huge fan of Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. You can never go wrong with them. My favorite jelly with them happens to be grape, but like I said, there's no wrong way to make them. I enjoyed reading.

What an adorable story. I picture the speakers as eight or ten years old, a boy and a girl and this little chit-chat could lead to a romance eventually. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you, that would be my assessment. I imagine my little sister and I would have had a similar dialogue growing up

it's a good dialogue-only story. It's definitely something I can see being said between friends or even a mother and son. Nicely done here ^.^ Dialogue only isn't easy for everyone

Well, that's an interesting conversation about affirming each other in the details of life! They seem suited to each other. Well done. Sending best wishes for your entry.

Thanks Wendy, this was just the kinda of sticky stuff to write about in dialogue format to test myself with. Actually, I have never been much of a peanut butter and jelly fan.

I hate the seeds in blackberry jam, lol!

I was reminded that they used to call "Seinfeld" the "show about nothing." This is a scene about nothing, really, yet it was thoroughly entertaining - just like "Seinfeld" was!

You must have a great sense of humor and love to play with people's heads.

Good luck in the contest. By the way, what kind of bread?

Pam

Pam, of course it would have to be the horrible loaf of Wonder bread....my gosh it is a wonder that we have survived this long having consumed that that unbleached, non whole grain bread. Yes, listened in to some idle chit-chat in today's world would seem like a whole lot of dialogue about ?nothin 😉

Five stars for the command of dialogue and the faultless grammar and flow of the conversation. The story itself, in my humble opinion, could tackle more exciting/meaningful topics in 1000 words. I believe in flash stories with a surprise ending or a twist, which doesn't just baby-feed the reader with information. Also, I noticed a discrepancy above: one person says he used Huckleberry jelly, and the other found that the peanut butter goes so well with the grape jelly he was eating... Huckleberry is more like a blackberry and not a family of grapes...

Mario, you are the only person who read this and caught the unintended reference to grape jelly. Kudo's to you for your concise review and honest comment!

Peanut butter and jelly is a favorite amongst little tots and some adults. There are several variations which are good but better yet when you spread peanut butter with the jelly. Mom use to pack these kinds of sandwiches when I went to school. Enjoyed your conversation.

This is a very good dialogue you have written for the Dialogue Only Prompt about peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I got right into it as I read each word. Made me think of my husband who loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Well, I really enjoyed this dialogue only entry for two reasons.,,
First, compliance of the rules of the contest
Second, it kept my interest throughout.
Why? Because PB&J is one of my favorite things to eat, anytime day or night.

Grape jelly all the way!
Cheers.... John
