Hi Sally,
Somehow, I missed this chapter, so am catching up. It's nice that Simon has found his bride-to-be. I noted that angels are looking in the windows. So they are still hanging around.
"To the angels peering in the window, it was love, blossoming in spring."
I am assuming that Fee's crooked lawyer, Kenny Farnsworth, has put a plan together to free the evil underworld villain. Fortunately, his slippery stunt hasn't gone unnoticed. Tommy spied the linen delivery, and later, the missing third member of the delivery detail. The Sheriff has also noticed something is up...
Lowering my voice, I said, "Emmanuel, I think the guy conversing with Nurse Lucy is not who he appears to be, possibly attempting to get a coded message to Elling."
"I was just about to go over there when I saw you, Tommy. Something's off."
So, something is going down on Friday. Tommy and Sheriff Emmanuel will be ready. But lawyer Farnsworth is an eel. It should be quite a showdown!
"I (contined) to look in every direction, scanning the sea of blue uniforms." ... (continued)
Terrific chapter, Sally. I'll get to #27 later today.
Hugs,
Kimbob

You certain manage to paint lovely word picture of dinner parties and wedding dresses. I am enjoying the story. I concerned about what happened at the hospital when the lights went out and the man disappeared.

Great chapter again Sally. Realistic descriptions of the storm hitting but still with a good outcome for Tommy. Lovely finish with Betty Jo's unworn wedding dress. All tying together nicely. Cheers

This is so true. It goes along with my belief in past lives which I am aware few are, but which I exemplified in my book 'The Tor': "The longer I live, the more I realize there's no such thing as coincidence."
This is funny but very realistic: "After the message, I let out a whoop-whoop, drawing a few looks from the hospital staff." This will draw the reader in: "Yes, I will be ready on Friday too, Fitzgerald Elling. You'll never escape me."
Great use of the metaphor: "Betty Jo's bedroom was a museum of old memories," Good work

A lovely chapter with this imminent wedding. Wondering why Betty Jo never wore her gown? But great that it fits Candace. Hope they will find that third guy quickly! He's up to no good. Another excellent chapter.
Well done.

You know? Sometimes I watch the program cold case files and amazed of how long it is in man's timing before God's words are revealed. "Everything done in secret comes to light, either good or bad." Well done, Sal as always. You are a jewel.

The plot thickens as Elling doesn't intend to stay in custody, and Candace and Simon are determined to be married. But you left me wondering why Betty Jo has a wedding dress she never wore.

I'm so glad everything is working out. Did Patience have something to do with the lightning strike at the hospital? Fee has a plan, I'm sure, and she isn't going to let him get away with it. With Tommy's help, of course.
