This is an excellent chapter. You moved the story along nicely. You also ended with a good hook with Ben's unknown nemesis. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

No stock in the corrals would be something to inquire about.

Seems Livvy valued Ben's opinion of her hubby to be, even delayed her wedding day until she got Ben's approval.

The ending seems a bit of a throw in as to why the saloon bouncer decided to pursue an obvious non-threat. Perhaps more details about that matter are yet to follow?

Demone is a continuing presence. I didn't want readers to forget about him. Maybe a little more here.

An excellent chapter, very readable. Ben has a great desire to do God's will and His work and almost has a John the Baptist quality about him; pointing quietly to his Master, and influncing men to want to know Him. The enemy is however lurking nearby. He won't prevail over a man anointed by God.

Livvy understood that no woman could hold Ben, unless God picked her. It's good that she understood this and picked a good a good man for herself. Ben seems to be closing in on Demone.

I had hoped there was a lot more. Ben is interesting.

You do well with the character, Ben. He grows in stature to the extent that you do not have him talk. I think he fills a real need in the reader, who would like to be Godly and quietly imposing, but secretly knows he can't ... and therefore lives through the character of Ben.

Livvy giggled with excitement [No punctuation at the end.]

I like the heck out of your writing, Wayne.

I guess there will be a climactic showdown when Demone meets Ben.

Glad that Livvy and her family were happy to see Ben and introduce him to her fiance. Ben's approval meant a lot to them.

Livvie finally slowed her chatter. (Livvy) One spelling would be best

Well Ben approves of William for Livvy and so does her Mother so I suppose that is a go. Watch out, Ben's nemesis is at hand. I am enjoying your story about Ben Parson, Wayne. We need some men like him in this world today!
It was really bad back then, but it is in this day and age as well. Things never change only the times I suppose. Well done. Nancy

Excellent, Wayne. People certainly have Ben's number. A Christ-like figure, he just has that charisma and an aura about him that people either consciously or subconsciously know that he is a truly good person. Even his nemesis senses that about him. I loved how you brought him in at the end as a foreshadowing of the eventual showdown. This is skillfully written and leading us slowly toward a thrilling climax. Jim

Harness train - train to the harness. Maybe I should hyphenate it.

Still no meeting between Ben and his nemesis but the latter is getting very edgy and tension is building. Meanwhile, Ben continues to be an all-round good guy, loved by everyone. The story, as ever, reads well with good dialogue and pace and you feel more action is around the corner. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

I'm sure Ben was pleased to find himself amoung friends. It seems as if his reputation and proceeded him to this place. Damone Lovelace will be his next challenge. He seems like an evil man. I'll be looking forward to seeing where this episode will go.
