Thank you for sharing these life's lessons with us. I helped with the first one but didn't do the rest. They could all use a rewrite.

Prose not poetry:

"Just one more game, please."

"Jason, I know."

"Dad, but we lost each and every one this year." He stated with a tear in his eye.

"Son, it's okay the cry but what's important is you participated and did the very best of your abilities."

My dad died 1972.
Yes when I was 17 from cirrhosis of the liver.
A 26-year Naval Chief.
On Four destroyers in two wars.
