I do believe it is possible to love people we have never met. I love you, and quite a few others on here. We speak of mundane and important things. One sweet lady asked if I was really A.I. because I could talk on so many subjects. I said nope, I was a sick kid with access to books. If I am doing nothing else, I can read 4 or 5 books a day. I read fast, it comes from reading a lot. I slow down when absorbing new material, like medical stuff. Loving people is easy. It's living with them that's hard! :-)

    Hey Karen,
Oh my, you are prolific in your reviewing gal! I love to read, but there's no way I'm going to read even a book a day unless it's really small or exceptionally interesting. I've read a few that really captivated me. I assume you have access to a library. I think with your sense of humor, you might enjoy reading The Rosie Project. One of the main characters(Rosie) is a beautiful gal with spiky red hair who doesn't conform to societal norms. The primary character is a professor of genetics who has Aspberger's Syndrome and falls in love with Rosie though she doesn't meet any of his rigid ideas of what a wife should be. It's hilarious. I think you would enjoy it.
Anyway, thanks so much for all the fine reviews gal. I'm glad you find the writing worth reading and commenting on.
Have a blessed day my friend.

I get books from thrift stores, from my sisters, and I have folks I trade with. And , I will be getting my library card soon. Reading takes me away from this life. I am not here. I am there. Karen

"book mark" should be bookmark.

Sometimes, when you follow someone on TV you vicariously feel like you get to know them on a personal level.

Nice tribute, one sure he would appreciate.

    Hi Brett,
thanks for the fine review and catching that error. I've been reading In Touch, the monthly devotional for some years now, as well as watching Dr. Stanley. I admired him and I know he inspired a lot of people all over the world.
    Have a blessed evening.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Someone posted on FaceBook that Dr. Charles Stanley had died. I'm pretty sure if he was a leftist his death would have been planted all over the news. Our world had it's priorities backwards.

    Hello Barbara,
I know exactly what you mean. I see that Harry Belafonte died, and that was big news, as I suppose it should be, but given the fact that Dr. Stanley impacted millions with a message that could be life changing, it's odd that his passing didn't make the news. As you mentioned, our world is upside down right now. Thanks so much for the fine review gal.
    Have a blessed day.

That was a touching tribute, which a salvation message that was not pushy. Your sum up of a stranger's effect on your life was interesting, and personal, and moving. I liked the quote you used, as it tied the story together nicely.

    Hello Mintybee,
thank you so much for your kind review. I was surprised that his passing wasn't on the main stream media, and felt that perhaps others hadn't heard of his death either.
    Have a blessed day.

What a lovely memorial for a very special man. I have listened to him many times and he never said anything that was not inspiring. It is really truly sad that such a man did not rate a mention on the news.

    Hello Carol,
thanks so much for the great review and thoughtful comments. I really enjoyed his messages. I've got a yearly devotional that I read at night, and I get his monthly devotional, In Touch every month. I'm sure the organization will continue to put it out. Yeah, I'm really disgusted with the main stream media. They place a lot of value on lifting up people who were entertainers, but little on a man who impacted millions for God.
    Have a blessed evening gal.

He was a very precious man and great preacher. I still listen to him on T.V. that has been recorded. I bought some of his CD teachings. One was about Jesus and I have played that so many times. I believe it is what we do on this earth for Jesus that matters. Thank you for sharing this. May God bless you today and always! Teri

    Hello Teri,
thank you so much for the wonderful review and comments. I will still listen on our Roku TV to his sermons as well. In Touch has a program there, and also there is the internet as well as his monthly devotional. I'm sure going to miss him.

This is a beautiful tribute to a man who has dedicated his life to making life better for others. He certainly had some words of wisdom to share and we would be wise to take them to heart.
Thank you for sharing.

A lovely tribute to this man who inspired you so greatly and brought you to tears following his death. The words he expressed were simple but aren't those always the best sometimes? Because the message had such impact on you and probably many others. Take care, Debbie

    Hello Debbie,
thanks so much for the kind review and comments. He used his ministry, In Touch to reach out to millions of people around the world. They send solar powered, hand held recorders that have sermons in the native languages of people in remote locations. For most of them, it's the first time they've ever heard of Jesus. He's certainly going to be missed.
    Have a blessed evening gal.

I did see a great tribute to Dr. Stanley on TBN but nothing on the secular networks, unlike the evil things they said about Marcus Lamb when he passed away. What a wonderfully written tribute. Thanks for sharing!

Have a great day, and God bless.

    Hello Mike,
thanks so much for the exceptional review and wonderful comments. I have come to expect very little from the main stream news in terms of anything that doesn't embrace their ultra-liberal philosophy. Dr. Stanley will certainly be remembered by many who were impacted by him.
    Have a blessed evening.
