Loved your thoughts on God. "And underneath are the Everlasting arms." I believe the key is nature. The Bible was written by men, inspired by god. Nowadays it has been changed so many times I can't keep up. I find every answer in the parables. John 3: 16. My people worship the land and all living things, as do I. Thanks for sharing. K xx

Dear Kay, Thank you so much for your review and rating of this poem. I'm glad you liked it and have made the Bible the foundation in your life. These changes are generally not for the better, are they? When the storms come, only Jesus and His Word will keep you! I'm glad you know Him! Gudbjorg

We only have to walk amongst nature to see His smiling face and feel his energy. Love, Kay.

What you were thinking today was good. How many do we know that were thinking today how life has been, through the years, so filled with many trials and difficulties, but little love and happiness.

Dear Paul, Thank you so much for this review. You brought up a very sobering point--all the more so, since the world has changed so much in our generation, and not so much for the better. It's nice to have a forum where we can bring more love to the world! Gudbjorg

Well written, although I disgree with the subject matter. I also think there is so much more you could write to make this poem more personal, and more touching.

Why, do you think, the christian god is presented as male, even though god is "all-powerful, all-encompasing, and without form?"

Thank you for taking the time to review this poem. You ask, 'Why do you think the Christian God is presented as male': Partly, I would say, because of the language structure that the concept originates from and also from the foundational family structure created by God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit--with the Holy Spirit, in many places in the Bible, possessing feminine characteristics. God is a spirit but clearly has a form, according to the descriptions given in the Bible. He is the Spirit of Love and the world would have no love in it without that spirit. It wouldn't be a pleasant place to live, as many today, having rejected Him, are finding out.

Thank you for the thurough response. I agree that the foundational universal guiding, spirit is the spirit of love

I believe my reply got cut off. I was saying that i agree that love is all, and love is god, but disagree with most Christian practices and beliefs. Do you consider that a more whole singlar god may exist outside of the Christian view?
reply by C.J. Elliott on 19-Apr-2023
My belief is that all religions offer some perspective, but not a single one is all-encompasing. The Bible says that "no man shall ever truly know god," and yet, most Christians seem to have faith that their faith is 100% correct. Why is this?

Excellent post! Your word choice was great, flow and pace very well done too. My favorite line:

What is it that keeps me from sin's alloy?

Probably the best use of alloy in a poem that I've ever read!

Thanks for sharing!

A lovely and sweet poem. Very well put together sentences creating a beautiful write.
You're a poem read as well and flows well off the tongue with some great rhyming structures as well.
I find no grammatical issues with your poem nor do I find any problems with your aesthetics or presentation. It's very well done and presents a lovely package.
I thank you for your submission and wish you all the best have a great day!

I truly was captivated by the simplicity, the honesty and the deep spiritual message this poem conveys. The words are powerful, the rhymes are very well researched and the read flows like a freshwater spring. This I will copy and print as a reminder to put God first in my daily life.
Thank you!!!!!

Looking back over my 80 years of life, I can see the times when I should have faced destruction. where my enemies should have been able to prevail and bring me down to nothing. I can also clearly see how in those situations, God was there to deliver me from some situations that seemed to be impossible. I cannot thank him enough. I do not always remember to even try. Within my heart of hearts I am grateful beyond measure. I do not deserve his love, but that is the beauty of his love. He loved me before I even knew who he was.

One of the lessons we as Christians learn is how to count it joy when being tried in every way known to man. Is it easy? No but after the storm, the peace is worth it. Good post. Well done.

Dear Ben, You really expressed the quandary we Christians face. Being tried may not be easy but it really builds character that will stand us in good stead when the next wave of trials hits. And each new wave only seems to get bigger and the climb to its summit that much harder-but to see the 360° circumference from the top makes it worth it all! Thank you so much for your review and rating.
