You're setting the tone: "If we see tracks, we'll call for backup." Is the suspense increasing? "
"The 2022 Mercedes registered to him is still there, and no cab service was reported to have been in the area." Hmmm?? " She was declared dead after a boating accident. The authorities never recovered her body." You areabit ofan imp ..tou got the coffee in:"The faint smell of brewed coffee still hung in the air." We will be back

Hi Sally,
Well, I'm a bit mixed up. In Chapter 21, FEE came out of the log cabin to find a being who looked like an angel. He addressed it as a "spirit", and a few seconds later fired a shot at it. It had to be Patience. Could a bullet harm an angel? I'm thinking not, but I don't know for sure. So my question is, where is the angel? Surely Patience could have handled FEE. But there he is with Willa handcuffed to the truck, and he's got a gun pressed against Detective Sally's head. Where is King? Surely King could bring him down. There hasn't been a shot fired, so is King just waiting for a clear chance at FEE? Would he be that smart to not attack while FEE has the gun pressed against his owner's head?
There are a lot of unanswered questions. King? Patience? And is Betty Jo going to fire the rifle with Madame Detective so close to FEE?
You've left us with a cliffhanger here. Anything could happen.
Great writing, Sally! No errors that need correcting.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Nicely done. You left us in a moment of holding our breath to make sure the shot takes out the target and Willa and Sally aren't harmed. Your story is very exciting and I'll look forward to reading more.

Things are getting exciting! Of course, you couldn't make Fee's capture too easy. But I would like to know how he got away from Patience, or whoever was on the porch.

A dramatic and exciting ending which leaves the reader wanting more. Very well written with good dialogue and a lot of suspense. The dogs are excellent and very reliable in their skills. Well done. Bring on the next chapter!

Your story left us hanging for the next chapter. Exciting chapter for sure; what should we expect when they get a little closer to the man named Fee.
Is Simon going to help so they catch him? Or is he going to be one of the suspects, too.

Thank you for the excellent review and comments. No, Simon is a trial witness, as is Candace. Both are staying at the safe house at the Jenkins? farm. Sending you my best today as always,

If he did not take his car, and no cab serviced the area, makes one ponder how he got out and did he receive help doing so?

Should "Thanks to dogs" not be Thanks to the dogs, or just their names, as followers of the story would know they were dogs?

Good, and action-packed cliffhanger ending.

Dialogue throughout flowed naturally for the characters.

Thank you for the excellent rating and comments. The previous chapters of the book answers the question on how Fee left the estate, on foot; and where he's hiding, in the fishing cabin. I leave my readers with things to figure out, but unless you read it like a book, you will be lost. The dogs are visiting and new to the book so I'm just giving my readers a reminder. I have lots of characters in this story and angels and demons coming and going.
    Blessings, Sal
