June, I wish you well in the club Septolet poem. Amazing that so long ago man found a way of irritating pearl shell (commercially.) I liked your poem because it began when nature and a grain of sand brought forth a beautiful pearl, almost like the shell shed a tear. That is why we call them teardrop pearls. Thanks for sharing. K xx

I?m glad you enjoyed this one on challenges in life that can be turned into pearls if we endure. And you certainly are an example of one who has.

It is rather amazing to think that just a grain of sand could irritated roster so much that it would create the beauty of a pearl. This is beautifully done, and I appreciate you listening to it. Patricia.

Excellent Septolet poem for the Japanese poetry club. Good syllables count and connection between lines Thank you for participating in our club. Nice presentation and words that create a concrete mental picture. Well done.

NOTICE: There are two forms of Septolet, syllables based, and a word base. There are both fine but I am keeping the word form for future use. I edited the event. Your post is fine the way it is. I apologize for the confusion.

I like your septolet, June. It's interesting to read a format that deals in words instead of syllables. I also like that it's a single poem presenting two related themes.
What impressed me most about your poem is the theme selection. The first stanza is the pearl that grows from an irritation. The second is strength of character that grows from life's challenges.
Well said.
Happy Easter!

Love the comparison of the grain of sand to life's challenges as well as the end result of each, a jewel or personal victory. May we all have a string of pearls full of personal victories. Thanks for sharing your lovely poem!

It is true the thing that often causes the most pain is the thing that developed a character that is up to meet the challenges that life sends our way. We need to learn from the irritants in our life.

This is a philosophical poem about being perseverant in life. If we keep working hard and don't stop making progress, we can turn a grand of sand into a pearl.

Well done

A short poem with much meaning. I like the imagery and the irony. What once causes irritation, may one day be seen as something that created the change required, to bring a life to a better place. That's what I took from this. Good writing. :))
