Hi Tom,
I like how you end this sad poem with a bit of humor and a nod to the TV show Gilligan's Island. At least they weren't lonely. They had each other.
Good luck in then contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

It was meant to be humorous.

Not seen the program but your poem here left quite a deep message for me, when we are surviving and living hand to mouth there is no time for loneliness as we are striving to live. Many of us wallow in pity for ourselves when we have everything at our fingertips and we are just ungrateful, a poignant write, those skeeters sound terrifying! Ha ha ha Love Dolly x

Oh I remember the SS Minnow with Ginger, Mary Ann, the Howes, professor... being on tropic island.

Your poem depicted loneliness in a numerous ways.

Best of luck in the contest.

This is so original. Of course Gilligan's Island is a great metaphor for being stranded all alone on some desert island somewhere.

Wishing you great luck with the voters.

My luck is like Eeyore's. If it isn't bad I don't have any at all. If I was a politician, I'd finished last. I am in it for payola! :-)

A very good poem. The use of descriptive words helped me understand how the shark would feel.it seems it is swimming around Gilligan's Island. I will never watch one of those reruns again, the same way. :))

That's funny. The way you placed yourself in the person's stead and realized the dangers. Now, answer this. Why did you steal the boat? :-)

Wow. I loved this...anything water based...You had me from the first line! The last lines, well I didn't watch Gillian s but I actually thought you were using British slang. Exceedingly well, as to me as a British person those names all mean quite rude but very amusing things.good luck this is amazing love Meia xx

Thank you Meia. Nice to hear from the British Isle. Mum was a descendent from Liverpool. Know any Goldstraws?

This poem, Who's to Blame?, gives voice to Gilligan perhaps who has set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle. Yes, like Robinson Crusoe, except likely dead soon.

I'd rather had sailed with Br. Hale, Giner and their fool Big G.
