Viewing comments for Chapter 15 "A Cry for Help"
Third in a series is quite sad in the beginning.

Unique to have a spider, a snake, and Bea all friends. Humans could learn much from such arrangements.

The last paragraph lost me. Not sure if it is the past to present tense change or what, but it felt "off" for some reason.

Think it is the "Bea follows the howling they all are hearing."

Keep thinking perhaps the sentence would read better as Bea followed the howling they heard?

Make "spots" spotted and "is" was.

Thank you for your involved review. Someone on here suggested I experiment with the historical past, to intensify the action. But you are right about the awkward wording. How about this?****
"Having learned in the past how to follow Sweet Puppy?s voice yelping, signaling she was trapped and in danger, Bea follows the howling they all are hearing, until she spots a wooden barn in the distance."

How mysterious is that? Pictographs of their likeness, Bea with her two Friends Snakely. and Spidie are crossing a Brook to see this mystery, who's "stalking" and recording them? Gee, I hope the dog is rescued, beautifully written, I take this is a writing for youth? Well done, blessings Roy

This is such a colourful, detailed and well-written extract drawing the reader fluently into the characters and then building the plot gradually towards the climax which obviously encourages the reader to read on. Thanks for sharing this skilful prose. Best wishes, Debbie

Ah! Bea is called to yet another mission! And that certainly helps with the healing from grieving loss. I liked how readily Bea cares for her new friends and observes their behaviors nonjudgmentally.

I really liked "Spidie dropped down as on a rope." I could just visualize it.

This sentence was confusing and all the commas could be removed:
" the caves, her mom and dad's, mom and dad's, mom and dad decorated."
It could be simpler as: the caves her parents' parents decorated.

As usual you have delightful reviews. I will modify the details about the cave.
Also if at any time you want to post the review about Bea on Amazon, this would be a good time. This is what my agent Margarette said this today: "Be Wee with Bea 1 got a great response at yesterday's screening. The evaluators loved your book cover!" Cool huh?

I tried to do a review but I couldn't. I can only do reviews for those books I purchased and I bought the Kindle version of the first edition. Should I just add my review to that one?
reply by the author on 04-Apr-2023
Sure, people reading the review will see it is the same name. It's basically the same story, with a few chapters added & different book covers
reply by lyenochka on 04-Apr-2023
Okay! I just posted my review. It will take a day before it gets approved and made public. But the only place I could "write a review" was for the old book. 💖
reply by the author on 04-Apr-2023
That's ok. The new one will be the only book they will be able to buy.

This is so confusing, Liz. Poor Bea is confused and rightfully so. Spidie and Snakely have confused her with a slight deliberate gesture. We already knows the she has lost Sweet Puppy but the voices of do appear in her head. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings n Hugs!!!

Thank you for sharing this with us. It's always good to read about good triumphing over evil.

This time, rather than feeling hurt and wanting to hide, she simply asked what they were laughing about. (omit comma after 'that')

Good thing Bea was not too distracted to do her notice exercise! I see she has a new mission and more friends to save. How sweet is this chapter! Love the new characters along for the ride too. Sending you my best today as always.
