This feels like a stream of consciousness and a from the heart entry into this contest. It is creative and it feels honest. Good job and good luck. ann

Wow. Such humility. :D I liked it, and agree with most- all, really- of what you say. I realized this could get heated, but no one is forced to participate. And I would hope the mods would delete anything that was overtly racist (if anyone were to be crass enough to post anything like that; we're a pretty polite group).
I'm like you; I don't think about race. But I recently came across the idea that this is part of our white privilege: we have the privilege of not thinking about race. Those with darker skin are not allowed to forget about it and just live their lives. I will never know first-hand whether or not this is true, since I'm white... but I suspect it might be. Anyway, thanks for your civil and well-thought-out entry into the contest.

I believe you are right about whites not having to even think about race day-to-day.
Thank you for your very nice review.

You concentrated your opinion on the way you look here and how people perceive you, but you really didn't give much away here and I am not quite sure what you are trying to say, but I enjoyed your summing up and your comments about the president who was able to bring healthcare to the people, but you omitted to say who it was?

I don't know the word (tanish)? Perhaps you need to explain it in your notes?

I wish you luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Obama, man of color, got healthcare for poor people.
What I was trying to say is that whites have no monopoly on anything.

Thank you for your explanation here, I appreciate that. Does the healthcare still exist that Obama set up to help the poor? I hope it does, love Dolly x

This is a very oven-minded brief essay on race. I do not understand why you feel this contest has potential for catastrophe. However, you have clearly and descriptively expressed your thoughts and feelings on race and concluded with a powerful message... God would not look kindly on discrimination. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

You have written a very interesting and thought-provoking story. I hope the contest is not a disaster. Your entry is most certainly not a disaster.
The way you described yourself in relation to others was very creative. Your final paragraph was very well done. Excellent writing. Terry.
