Nicely written haibun. It started about the world being off kilter over another school shooting which isn't so far from me as I live in Tennessee. It blows my mine that gun control is a political football when most Americas believe we have get assault riffles off the street. Your poem switches to nature and how even though man tips the scales, nature will eventually right the rhythm of life.

Isn't it sad that a school shooting can become just the rhythm of life? Your well-written poem acknowledges the tragedy in Nashville, yet while disturbed by this event, there is a sign that things go back to normal, and as a woodpecker's return shows, the world is still moving along. Once these poor souls are buried, we will move on until the next shooting.
Thought-provoking and creative haibun.
Well done
Mary

I like the fact that you use Haibun to write about this tragedy. It's so sad. We are living in a world of chaos for sure. There are so much going on that make me unhappy, the war, the banking crisis and so many shootings. I just try to live my normal life as you stated. Resilient is the word.

Well done.

Times are in such an upheaval with as this killing. It only gets worse.
Four punk kids put a bucket in a woman's head just to video her reaction thevwimn suffers from heart trouble and had to be rushed to the hospital. Kids are acting out because of that stupid tick to. They need to be held accountable for their actions!

It is true that there is a rhythm to life. As we live our lives, they don't always flow smoothly, but they still have a rhythm. I enjoyed this very much and I wish you the very best in all of your writing. Patricia.

Isn't it funny, hence that philosophical saying, 'time and tide wait for no man' even though this dramatic affect has a grave, lasting impression on the loved ones and will last, the rest of the world ignores it and Carries on. Beautifully written haibun June, blessings Roy

June, you have written a thought-provoking poem about the nature of life and how we humans adapt to it. The woodpecker's life went on after his habitat was harmed, and he even added a mate. Humans though sad, will go on also.

One note, the shooting was in Nashville, Tennessee. You might like to correct that. Good work. Terry.

June, This is a very beautiful and very well written haibun poem you have penned about the rhythm of nature. I love the picture of the woodpecker. Great descriptive words. There was a shooting in a Nashville school the other day too. Three children and three adults were killed. So very sad and evil! love and blessings, teri

June you are correct. The world will return back to normal. Unfortunately normal now a days means more mass shooting's and no real gun legislation. The rhythm of life will always be interrupted by man. So much for me on my soapbox, I liked your poem and life does resume, for good and bad.

A poignant post June and I am appalled by what I saw on the news, it is so very tragic that these sick people target young innocent school children, it is such an evil act, I can't imagine what is going through their mind? It is totally crazy and very worrying June, love Dolly x
