Nice post. It reminds me of a young man I was decades ago, trying clumsily to find the girl of my dreams. I thought my singing and musical talents would be enough to sway the girl. Boy, was I wrong!!

Bill elk in nature but even on film it is piercing and depending on the doe he should find success in short order unless another male wants to rut.

Not just that brown stag, some of us other brown stags have done the same over the years. Somehow pride goes out the window when searching for the certain female. Totally understandable.

This is a nice poem! The imagery was very descriptive, and I could hear the stag while I was reading. I also enjoyed the picture, I think it helps capture what you're describing. Hopefully the stag can find its deer.

Most everyone has experienced at some point, non-verbal communication. It can be paired with any given emotion, but we seem to remember the aggressive stances the most. This stag deer evidently was in search for a mate being he was bellowing (verbal communication).

Thank you for your awesome review. Animals are so helpful for inspiration, but really I only see the cats and parakeets and a few wild birds in the winter. I must be way overdue for a trip to the zoo, aviary, or the aquarium. Hopefully can go next week for one of them!
