Hi Gypsy, a poem of truth. Good imagery. I love the red poppies.
Of special note: where soldiers spilled their blood--indeed, they did.
When it comes to war, there are no winners. Well done. Xo. M

The war took place long ago, but we wonder if the spirits of the dead haunt us still. How would the world have turned out if the wear had not taken place, and people had prospered?

What a wonderful haiku, Gypsy. The dual picture was great, the field of poppies were very special to me. They spoke of the soldiers who did die there. What a great job. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

I remember living in Germany and seeing the poppy fields. They were beautiful. A few weeks back I saw a poppy field in the US. You don't see them as often as you do in Europe. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem with us.

Spain has a lot of red poppy fields. In California they are orange.
Thank you, Barbara. I appreciate your kind review.

I haven't seen that movie so I'm losing the meaning about the old man's wine but I liked the idea of a Firefly in love with the evening star, or the planet Venus. Fireflies communicate with their lights I think.
