We can scarcely imagine the disappointment, obviously the loss her, but also for him. She had much to offer, and he seemed not to notice anything important.

This poem reminds us how we would feel if our prom date would not show. I am sure the Kleenex would come in handy, dried petal flowers would get dry and fall off the stem while the dress would hang in the closet, not worn.

Hi Gypsy, this poem is quite heartfelt and filled with vivid imagery. I could see the dress and the flower petals upon the floor. Your poem reads and flows well and has good sensory appeal. Of special note:
dried petals scattered on the floor
(very sad, indeed.)

I am guessing from the artwork that the night planned didn't go as expected with the loved one not showing up. But then I'm wondering if she was waiting for someone wouldn't she have been already dressed. Hmm. I need to think about that.

My intention was a story in a poem about a man waiting for his love but she doesn't show up... permanently. But with Japanese poetry, you imagine what you may, there is no right or wrong answer.
