Do you write for the masses or more or less for yourself, like me? I see, five unpublished novels. That must have taken months or years to compelete, Did you ever forward to a publisher or only to friends? I must have written 3000+ pieces since settling on Nevertheless Acres in NC, our homestead of sixty-seven acres with a herd of Herefords.

Tom, I really appreciate your taking a look at what I have recently written. You and I are alike in that we write primarily for ourselves. I am retired while you have a herd of Herefords to care for. Many thanks for taking an interest in my work. Rod

I wonder if you have put yourself in your wife's shoes to write this. I'm glad you seem to have wonderful support as all writers need support from their spouses for that struggle with creative moments. Congratulations on the win!!

Hi, lyenochka! Yes, I put myself in my wife?s shoes. The poor woman often hears me groan and moan while I?m writing. I truly appreciate your review and the congrats. Rod

Hi,
This is a well written poem about how much time it takes to write and how understanding writers' spouses have to be. It is good that this writer seems to be aware that he might be at times neglecting his wife in order to write.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck with the prompt

Very nice! Yes many will relate. At least the writer has a supportive wife for encouragement, and the outcome was a positive one. Very best wishes for your entry in the contest.

Advice from your partner can be a good thing. Writer's block can be frustrating but also you can rest your pen for a while as you gather your thoughts and ideas. Like your poem.

Ironically, I receive very little advice from my spouse, but she is supportive and allows me to work in peace. You're right about writer's block often being a chance to rest and re-energize. Thanks for sharing, Rosemary.

Oh yes how well expressed here the sheer sadness that can invade the writer's creative spirit when words simply dry up - not forever- but it can feel like a drought

Great theme! I enjoyed reading this exceptionally well-written verse and I also applaud you on how your presented it. The flow of the abcb rhyme was well done. I can so relate to the premise of a hubby not listening to advice :). Good luck.

This is so familiar to us writers. Some days it feels like we will not ever be able to put the story down on paper. We go back and forth with the good and the bad every time before something great comes out.

You are so right, Mia. One day you?ll be on a roll, the next day you?ve sunk. Many thanks for taking the time to review my poem.

This is a good entry into the Sadness Rhyme Poetry contest. The text is a great size. I like the text in a color but would select a color that contrast better with the background, a color that is darker. Your message is stated with clarity and is easily understood. Your rhyme scheme is done well. Most writers will relate to the struggle of getting the creative juices flowing.
You have good spacing of text in the poem box. Good spacing adds to the presentation.
The visual fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.
