I studied the artwork before I scrolled down and read. I felt so sorry for the raven. Winter in one's heart would not be good. It would be a cold heart. Again, thank you for sharing your God given talent with us.

What a wonderful haiku, Gypsy. The dual pictures were definitely interesting for it appears in the first one that the tree bough grew within the raven. It was interesting because your words said the same. The second showed a simple raven. Very well done and sadly yet greatly enjoyed. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

I believe that ekphrastic poems are inspired by a work of art, and this image can seem metaphorical. It suggests that even the raven, often presented as a harbinger of death, will itself suffer greatly.

That's so sad. If "winter is in his heart" then the joy is gone and he has given up on life. I guess that's why he has melted into the withered bough which also expresses winter.

Thank you, big sister. I liked the picture. I was busy with Atticus yesterday and by the time I was done with the dishes it was 8:45 pm. I had 15 minutes to write two haiku to meet my challenge of 2 haiku a day. LoL I made it.
Love,
Marival ❤️

That is a chilling picture and winter is hard on the birds. Your poem has a ghostly and eerie feel to it here, I enjoyed your clever words, love Dolly x x x
