Very heart-warming!
I don't know if you meant "drew near" in the third stanza.
That aside, it doesn't take away from your work at all. Well done, and I appreciate you sharing!

Thank you for the great review and stars, KIB. You're actually the only one to mention that. Yes, drew near would be more fitting there. I'm glad you liked the piece.

All that is missing in this story is Patty Duke (The Miracle Worker), I think.
Very well done, and you should garner deep support for a tale well told. Keep on typing on, friend.

I love how this poem shows the effect of compassion in a situation versus letting indifference get in the way. This story is really touching and could be influential to any who may judge anyone who is homeless or not doing very well. Great job!

This is a wonderful heartfelt story and I wish it was true. Homeless people have deep seated problems that are not as easily fixed as in your poem but I loved the sentiment here. Your poem is well rhymed and metered and your words well chosen and I wish I had a six for you. I reckon this is a winner for the contest, love Dolly x

Thank you for the fantastic review, Dolly. Yes, some homeless people just want to live their lives like that and aren't interested in trying to better themselves. It's sad. I really appreciate the big six offer and kind comments, Dolly. Have a great weekend and thank you again.
