The author's words are descriptive, frightening, and creative. A wind storm must be very scary especially when the electricity goes out for more than a day. So glad you have wonderful kind neighbors. The author's description of this scene was expressed well. The last stanza was great and made me smile! I am sure you'll be ready, Jay! Stay well and safe!...Maria

I'm so happy you had generous neighbors to help you through the power outages. Writing serves so many therapeutic purposes. I'm happy you had this one to reflect on and write. Best, JohnC

So glad to hear you survived the storm Jay. Six days is a long time without power. But thankfully you will be ready for the next storm.

Blessings
Janet

I don't mind rain, but I can't stand wind.
Six days without power is a really long time. I'm glad you have such great neighbours. I do too.
Thanks for sharing your poem.

One needs to stay prepared at all times. Having flash lights and camping supplies to keep you warm like sleeping bags camp stove ti cook and water jugs for water . if you have to travel in the snow kep blankets handy and energy bars and apwater or gator aid handy. Just a few suggestions to stay safe, you might incpvest in some hand warmers fron the sporting good depot store to use in case your heater goes out at home or in your car.

I'm glad survived and maintained your sense of humor. It's a lovely little poem that speaks volumes of the importance of good neighbors. Your rhyming of hours with prayers raises the bar on poetic license but, if anyone has earned the right to do so it is you. Well done.

JayBird, You have been missed! I smiled when I saw your posted words. Gosh darn weather can spoil the fresh squeezed milk from a teat too often! It is great that you have such good neighbors, and please keep those nasty winds on your side of the Blue Rdiges. ð???ð???

I can so identify with this - I too was without power for 6 days a few years ago. Luckily my husband was in hospital and I would stay with him the entire day, showering, drinking tea (had my own cup!) and eating his lunch. He wanted to leave but I wouldn't let him till the power came back on.
