The author's words are descriptive, frightening, and creative. A wind storm must be very scary especially when the electricity goes out for more than a day. So glad you have wonderful kind neighbors. One needs to stay prepared at all times. Having flash lights and camping supplies to keep you warm like sleeping bags camp stove ti cook and water jugs for water . if you have to travel in the snow kep blankets handy and energy bars and apwater or gator aid handy. Just a few suggestions to stay safe, you might incpvest in some hand warmers fron the sporting good depot store to use in case your heater goes out at home or in your car.

I can so identify with this - I too was without power for 6 days a few years ago. Luckily my husband was in hospital and I would stay with him the entire day, showering, drinking tea (had my own cup!) and eating his lunch. He wanted to leave but I wouldn't let him till the power came back on.
