I love the paragraph about the special interaction between Jackson and his wife, the blind detective Sally. Then quite a change of scene and mood as A frightened Fee stumbles into the fishing lodge only to leave his precious tote outside. A very good chapter Sally, I enjoyed it.
Cheers

Hi Sally,
That was a nice twist, that Detective Sally Law and her team had arrived to help the law enforcement team of Aspen Grove with their recent crime spree, but also had a case of their own with a firm connection to the town... another missing girl, Tammy Sue Vance, from Lafayette Township. She had been abducted on Halloween night, 2012.
It's so great that you were able to have "the blind detective" show up in this novel. Now, the world is right again! Patience is a busy angel, but Aspen Grove is in good human hands now, as well.
I especially was intrigued with the voice that scared Fee...
"Whoo... whooo thinks he can escape from me?"
"Whoooooooo thinks Fee can escape from meeeee?"
"Fee... Fee...!"
Old Fee was scared out of his wits! Good to see him get some of his own medicine.
But where did the voice come from? Is it the band of angels that came from God to help Patience? Or is it DeeCayed and Nix, wondering why Fee is on the run?
My favorite line,
"As you know, I had my brain scan today; and it's official, there's no brain inside there at all," I teased.
Now, what does that taste like? ... "lobster-stuffed ravioli" ... sounds dee-lishus!
*****************************************************
"Willa, sweetheart, do you detect smoke?" ... ( "detect" doesn't sound normal to me. I think Tommy would say "smell".)

"Yes, I do. It smells like a car may have caught fire. I'll call 9-1-1." ... ( If I was Willa in that car, I'd be wondering if the engine had caught fire. I think I'd say,
"Yes, I do. I hope the engine hasn't caught fire, Tommy! I'll call 9-1-1." )

"...You must be the newly married detectives," she said, extending her hand with a smile. (I'd use a hyphen, newly-married)
**********************************************
Nicely penned chapter, Sally! Lots of suspense here, and I can picture the old fishing camp at the end of that woods road. The next chapter should be dynamite!

Hugs,
Kimbob

I think Fee would be wise to leave his tote outside and not open the door. Tho I suspect it wouldn't do him any good. Whatever is after him isn't going to be stopped by a barricaded door, is it? I think Sally and Tommy will soon have their cases wrapped up.

This is another good chapter. When the blind lady is around it seem there is always something good to eat as well. It will be fun to watch her solve another cold case. Fee is terrified and with good reason. We like to him in fear.

Thank you so much for your kind review of my book chapter. Sorry to be so late in this, but my Vietnam tribute poem just took off and reviews flooded my box. I need to balance myself out a little bit better in the days ahead.

Thanks so much and I hope to see you next week.
Blessings to you always, Sally XOs

This interesting chapter is the necessary bridge between Fee's intentional house fire put out by Patience and the arrival of the Blind Girl with her crew, plus Fee's troubled walk to his hidden cabin he had thought was safe.

In Section One, Tommy and Willa smell smoke on the way to unexpectedly visiting Hank at their police department. Willa calls 9-1-1 and learns that the fire is out and first responders are there. Willa then calls Hank to offer to bring pizza, but he says his guests have arrived with an elaborate meal of Italian food for all.

In Section Two, you provide an entirely plausible background for anyone not already familiar with the Blind Girl book series so far.

In Section Three, Tommy and Willa meet Detective Sally Law and Officer King; and she invites them in to meet the rest of her crew before dinner.

In Section Four, Tommy is fascinated by Detective Jackson Law's manner with his wife, which inspires hopes for his future relationship with Willa. He is also impressed by Lieutenant Miles Jean-Baptiste's close friendship with the blind detective and the mutual esteem in her team. Tommy realizes that "Aspen Grove PD had much in common with Lafayette Township's finest."

When Tommy asks why she and her crew are there, a whole new aspect of the case is revealed. Tammy Sue Vance, missing from Lafayette Township since Halloween in 2012, may still be alive, as her mother has been receiving hang-up phone calls with only background noise on "special occasions," which suggests she may be captive in the area. The possibility of linked cases justifies joining forces. All of this is entirely plausible.

In Section Five, Tommy reveals that his brain tumor has vanished, much to Dr. Sizemore's amazement and Willa's joy. Patience may have requested it.

In Section Six, Fee is walking the unkempt path to his old fishing cabin by moonlight; but suddenly dark clouds block the light, and he hears what he thinks are threatening voices from both an owl and the wind. Still, he was familiar enough with the path to find his cabin, where he securely locked himself in. Only then did he realize that he had forgotten to bring in the tote bag he had left on the cabin's porch. We won't know the outcome of that until the next chapter, so suspense remains.

Superb, and aptly illustrated with Fee on the moonlit path.

Somewhere didn't you share you in life have difficulty with your sight? Maybe it was another FanStorian. As a novelist, have you been published?
Be well, and have a blessed day.

Thank you. Yes, I have very little eyesight left. I am in the advanced stages of retinitis pigmentosa. I am published. Five novellas on Amazon books, Amazon Kindle, and three audio books on Audible. I just had a book signing at a fundraiser for blindness research. Blessings,
    Sal :))

First of all, the picture you used is amazing!

In the paragraph where Detective Law introduces herself, I'd use "extending" her hand instead of "extended" to keep the narrative in present tense.

Lasagna doesn't need to be capitalized in the paragraph that begins, "What we lacked as a force."

Well, I can't wait to hear what happens to Fee when he steps out onto that porch to grab his tote. I have a feeling the "mysterious voice" on the wind will be waiting for him:-)

Thanks for another great chapter, Sal.

xx
Pam

Thank you so much for the lovely review and super stars, dear Pam. It means so much! What a pleasant surprise. I am so blessed. I have those areas cleaned up, thank you for that too. Unbelievable to me, I hit the post button on Sunday when I was exiting edit. I didn?t realize it until I saw a review in my box. I about had a heart attack! My equipment must be super sensitive. Anyway, I?ve been working madly to get this to my liking. I appreciate your kind help. So glad you like! The art is super cool, I thought. Sending you my best today as always.

It's wonderful the Tommy could share his good news on the night that he meets the famous Sally Law! And together the joined forces will be able to completely solve all missing persons cases. And it seems that Fee will get his fitting end soon. Great job with this chapter!

Could Simon be near and find the bag that Fee left on the porch? Just probably the detectives will come upon it before anyone else finds the bag? But what is in the bag? Power and money is his Gods.
