A lovely sonnet that complements your other free verse poem about the same topic. I have enjoyed both poems regarding the human and feline bond and interaction. Jacqueline

Laurie, this is a first for me--a cat romance Sonnet. I admire anyone who can write a Sonnet. You did a splendid job and left me smiling with your sense of humor.
Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest,

When I first saw the layout of this I thought we might be up for a Petrarchan sonnet but no. On checking the rhyme scheme I found it was Shakespearean set out in the old fashioned way they used to be when I was at school.
This one tells of the relationship between human and cat in a delightfully non sentimental way so appropriate where the feline is concerned

You're the smartest of all my reviewers, but that's no surprise to me. I'll try a Petrarchan at some point, now that you have my attention. I enter the Maria Faust Sonnet Competition every year and have always stuck to the standard Shakespearian sonnet, but now I'm itching to try something radically "new", lol. Thanks again for this.

Laurie,
This is a fantastic entry in the Rhyming Poem contest. The rhyming is creative and well written. It reads smoothly and flows well. I love that it is a Sonnet to a Neighbor's Cat.
All the best in the contest,
Eugene

Thanks, Eugene! I appreciate your time on this one. Most people struggle with the blocky sonnet form, but I'm old, lol. Thanks again.
