Hedy Lamarr was a remarkable woman. I saw her in some old movies, but I never realized she was also an inventor. Thanks for sharing this knowledge with us. Best of luck i nthe contest.

Very nice, error-free writing. Good work.
It's a shame that we (men, at least) are so superficial.
Stereotyping is terribly unfair.
Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for including the quote from Lamarr regarding her husband being the monarch in the marriage. Her chosen words give the reader an insight into her intellectual prowess.

The real power to your story is your focus on Lamarr's intellect and innovative ideas. For that I thank you.

An incredible and informative write.

She was truly a woman before her time and it is sad that her scientific and technological contributions went unnoticed for so long. She was brave to get away from her controlling husband and make a life of her own.
This is well-told and gives us a glimpse at the incredible intellect behind the beauty.

Wow, I had no idea that she was more than a beautiful actress! It's sad that we usually focus on beauty rather than brain. It's bad enough when you aren't beautiful, because a lot of the time you're just ignored, but to have a brilliant mind and not be respected for it would be terrible. I'm so glad that she went on the experiment and invent even while acting. Thanks for enlightening us.

My pleasure. When I came across her name and I only knew her as an actress (from history) I was excited to write this.
Thank you for this great review.

I had heard that Heddy Lamar was an inventive genius. I did not know this until later in life. It is too bad she did not receive recognition sooner, she probably should have taught at MIT. Excellent article about her and well written.

Isn't it amazing how many women there are who have contributed to various fields yet are unknown to the vast majority of people? I have heard of Hedy Lamarr, but only as an actress, never as an inventor.

And this sentence, 'Lamarr's brilliant mind was ignored, and her beauty took center stage.' is the reason for it. Beauty over brains. Women with intellect were not viewed in a positive light.

A few spags:
to our (nations) history. ---> nation's

Thanks so much for sharing the 'Mother of Wi-Fi' with us! Your piece was fascinating. Best wishes in the contest!

I had heard she had patents for that technology and was not surprised that the government managed to cheat her out of any recognition in favor of some other scabs years later.

This essay is well written, comprehensive, and compelling. Most readers of a certain age remember Hedy Lamarr as a beautiful actress. It was not widely known that she was also an inventor. I especially liked your inclusion of the story of Ms. Lamarr's sketches of fins of the fastest fish and wings of the fastest bird to design wings for planes. This piece was enjoyable reading. Best wishes in the contest.

Suggestion: This type of essay usually has a bibliography of websites used in case readers wish to learn more about your subject.

Thank you for this in-depth look at an influential woman. It was interesting from beginning to end. There are a couple things to fix. "Unknown at the time, would become a foundation for today's mobile phones." Also, "the intention of this technology way to switch radio frequencies." Aside from those two awkward spots, this was informative and right on target for the contest.
