What a lonely picture, Aiona. The birds are the harbinger of death.
As is, when health care stops being what is best for the patient and becomes profit based.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Yes, I wish there were a better way. I left the medical industry because it was becoming too corrupt. If I ever practice again it will be solo practice, not part of a hospital or group practice. It's cost-prohibitive though. So until I'm making money from my writing to help me open a clinic, I'm just paying to keep my license active (CME and relicensure which is about $850-$900 a year). I wish I could open a small free-clinic, but I barely have time to take care of the kids these days.

    You're welcome Aiona.
Good luck with your writing and hope you can start that free clinic. It is probably sorely needed in theses times.

So true. We've been through the wringer here in the United States. Now that I am on Medicare it's better for me but Medicare is running out of money. The dems don't want to deal with it and some republicans do. I can't believe we have gotten this far without dealing with it. It has got to be addressed. Sending you my best for this brave post.

I think how old someone does determine the standard of care they get and sometimes the elderly are abandoned as a lost cause and allowed to die earlier than they would have done with better care, this does seem so unfair, a poignant write, love Dolly x
