I absolutely loved it. What a great rendition of the Irish themed contest! You appeased the rhyming fan in me. Excellent imagery, visuals, filled with fun and humor, it was jolly to the last line.

God luck in the contest, this may be the winner.

A charming and delightful poem so suited for St Patrick's Day. Although I do not drink beer green or otherwise, I truly enjoyed the "visit" to Ireland.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes
Mary

Thank you, Mary. I don't drink beer either or anyone kind of alcohol, but I loved the Irish parades in New Orleans and those participating had had plenty of the green beer. lol

This poem, Green Beer, is a fun romp through dreamland and old Ireland with the leprechaun as a tour guide. We are left with the sense that the dreamers mind is indeed full of Irish ideas, or he was joined in hisdreams by a frolicking spirit.

I'll never forget one st Patrick's day I fooled my kids. Earlier is put 3-4 drops of green food color in a pint glass. When it was time for dinner I poured my beer into the glass and had them believing I st Patrick's day magic.

Could only fool them once...
I enjoyed your poem very much!

I can't imagine green beer but i expect it is popular on St Patrick's day. We have an Irish pub in our town and their celebrations go on until the early hours. I enjoyed your jolly poem in tribute to this Irish day, love Dolly x

Thank you, Dolly. It is in New Orleans the bars serve green been. I've never actually had any. The Irish parades are really fun.

This is a wonderful contest entry, I know in Chicago they also turn the river green for the holiday. This sounds like a dream I'd like to have, I wish you the luck of the Irish in the contest. :)

Thank you so much for a great review. It was in New Orleans where the bars serve green beer. I've never actually had any. I did love their crazy parades where they tossed everything off the floats needed to make Irish stew.

Excellent poem and very humurous. Perhaps you should have entered it in the Irish themed competition. The meter was spot on. The colour scheme and accompanying illustration were just perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
