Your poem is so cute and fun. Green beer is known as a St. Patrick's Day beverage. And the Leprechauns are a big part of this holiday, too. We have a relative who was born on Patty's Day.

This is an enchanting entry for the contest. You took the rules literally and let that leprechaun take your character on a fantastic journey through a dream.
The verse has fun rhymes and meter.
Best of luck with this slippery leprechaun and in the contest.

This is fun and delightful and you covered all the things of Irish lore from a leprechaun with gold and banshees and gory battles. Of course, the music, jigs, and green beer. Sounds like a perfect one for this contest. Hope this does well!!

Poem draws reader into a lot of what Ireland, and being Irish, are all about.

Smart leprechaun to never show his gold to anyone.

Interesting tidbit about green beer.

Thank you for the reveiw and comments. In New Orleans on St. Patrick's Day the bars serve green beer. There are St. Patrick parades where The Irish, in costumes throw, Potatoes, Onion, and other ingredients for Irish stew from the floats. The parade stops all the bars and the beer is free so there are so paraders who have had a lot. Personally, I don't really drink beer.

That old St. Patrick is up to his old tricks again, convincing his Irish colleagues to serve green beer, for medicinal purposes only and to go Proddy bashing. (Just joking) Proddy is short for Protestant.

Just remembered our walking home from school chant. Catholics, Catholics ring the bell, while the Proddy's go to hell. What nice children we were!!!

We had only one Catholic kid in our whole school in a protestant comunity. Of course, we believed Catholic were the ones going to hell. We had the poor boy crying every day so we weren't nice children either.

"Have yourself another nip," after he negated everything she thiought she saw. Well, she probably needed it after all the guts and gore.
Cute poem, good rhythm and meter, and a confusing leprechaun.
Neat poem.

Your rhyming and the flow of this poem are just perfect. And what a fun St. Paddy's Day verse it is. I can see it as an illustrated gift book, for all who love the green of Ireland. Good luck in the contest.

LOL, I'm sure the wannabe Irish on St. Patty's Day have drunk the green beer and taken the trip to Ireland in their dreams. Although, some may have had to take a delayed trip via hanging over the bowl, probably not ready to take another nip.

Thanks for the great review and funny comments. I don't really drink the green beer although I seen the result of it in the New Orleans Sr. Patrick Day parades. I have a bit of Irish blood but it's been deluted.

Your poem was a delightful and wonderful read. I enjoyed it. Your words flow nicely through the poem, and also had great rhyming through the whole poem. I loved your illustration.
