Be Wee With Bea Part 3
Viewing comments for Chapter 11 "Maddie's Past"Third in a series is quite sad in the beginning.

"Maddie's Past" is an engaging chapter in a fanciful book about the lives, communications, and imaginations of animals. There is much within the lives of animals that encourages personification, and Liz O'Neill does an excellent job of creating a cast to amuse the reader. It might be even more engaging to occasionally switch into the 'historic present tense to make her creature's encounters with life and death more immediate.

Thank you for your insightful review. I'm not acquainted with the historical present tense. Would I use that when I've included a backstory? If that's what you mean, I can do that! What a good idea. This is a wonderful site to learn more.

I enjoyed reading this story. You presented beautifully how puppies cross the rainbow bridge. Also, you showed a way for kids to cope.I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

So ... do the dogs feel something intuitively that alerts them to go to the Bridge of Rainbows? This was a good chapter with steady movement toward the theme of the Bridge of Rainbows, and we got some insight into those who accompanied the puppies to their end, and how they were together, then suddenly The journeyer to the Bridge disappeared. Good work.

It's good the Bea consulted with Willow and I liked the meditation on the flowing of water because grieving can certainly leave one stuck emotionally. I also liked that this ended with Bea considering the joy of those good memories even of being stuck with burdock burrs.
I really liked:
"Sometimes it felt like the memories of laughter and fun were dancing along the walls" and "like a single leaf she's seen spinning around on the branch, resisting letting go. "
I wondered about "terrible stuck up surprise" as "stuck up" means conceited. Maybe "stickered surprise" ??

Thank you for your ever loyal supportive review. The metaphor got lost. She gets stuck up with honey, so I should clarify that. Thank you for pointing out your favorite parts.

This was a great continuation chapter, Liz. Poor Bea, she lost Maddie then lost Sweet Puppy and the others listed having crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Bea took her losses quite liberally. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings n Hugs!!!

Oh no, first Maddie and now Sweet Puppy heading for the bridge of rainbows. Wonderful words to portray such a place but still so sad.
I have thoroughly enjoyed coming along on your imaginative adventures with these animals. Thankyou for this next instalment. Jacqueline

Please fix the funny characters: We focus on Maddie?¢??s life
This is a heartwarming story about the lives of several animals, particularly Maddie, Sweet Puppy, and Bea. This story highlights the importance of love, friendship, and perseverance, even in difficult times. The characters are relatable, and the storytelling is engaging and emotional. The story encourages readers to keep moving forward and seek out new experiences, even when faced with challenges.
Well done.
