Of all those wonderful qualities of leadership that you've list above, I have to admit that I more resemble the cookie man in the cartoon pictures below. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I have always believed judgement is an individual trait, so have always been confused about jurors, as they seem to be able to persuade another's judgement on someone's fate, a wonderful read, my ravings are just what your words made me think of, very well written****kahpot

Excellent presentation. You give plenty of examples to develop your essay. Yes, prejudice can cloud out judgment. I'm glad you mentioned several instances of prejudice and related them to your own thinking. Great conclusion, ending with the ways in which good judgment can serve us in many aspects of our lives. Very well developed essay. judi

Experience has taught that in an emergency, training plays an integral part of success. If each person has a particular role to play, and he has been thoroughly trained to do that role, he has no chance to panic or act in an irresponsible way. The end result will be much more successful. If we train ourselves to calmly think about how to react to certain situations, we will do much to eliminate making rash decisions. For me the bottom line is critical thinking. There is no better protection against failure than the ability to think critically before making any decision.

This is exactly right. Unfortunately, the average person doesn't have this drilled into them, or even enough smaller opportunities to prove to themselves that they know how to respond to things well.

This is a good description of what judgement should involve. I think many arrogant people are so sure their gut feeling is always right that they tend to make snap decisions and judgements with out looking for the facts or addressing their prejudices.

Since there are fourteen traits that are measurable, some will be lacking where others are running over.

I've always found the case for prejudice to be fascinating, I think we're all prejudiced, the trick is being honest when we detect it, and because it's wrong, overcome it by squashing it, it's the emotions that need controlling, it also amazes me how people think it's a democracy, wrong is always wrong, committed by one or a million, beautifully written, blessings Roy

I remember once my boss received an anonymous note from a person in the workforce highlighting a big problem. He asked me to read the note and commented on the poor grammar used. He completely ignored the problem highlighted. He asked me what I thought. I told him that if that problem in the workshop was not sorted then he would have a bigger problem on his hands. My boss was more concerned about the status of the person highlighting the problem, rather than the problem itself. He had very poor judgement and didn't last in his position for very long. His prejudice overruled his good judgement.

Often people have poor judgement because they are not in position of the full facts and because of their prejudices. Sometimes people are also influenced by the majority of opinions instead of what is right. I loved your post Bill and we are seeing your serious side here, love Dolly x

So, you have become the teacher. There is a saying I once heard and I believe it falls within this exercise, "It is easier to pull a chain than it is to push one." Good stuff Bill. Looking forward to the next parcel of wisdom.

I guess you can write serious stuff. Some people have more common sense than others. I don't why. It might be genetics. I found Common Sense is more important than the book smart in life. More degrees people have and less Common Sense they have.

Once two friends with PHD couldn't find a lodge in the woods after driving more than 4 hours.

Well done.

What a cartoon to exemplify "judgment" ! I think exercise judgment all the time, especially on Fanstory when we have to judge whether to post or not and how to review a post.

By the way, you have two different ways of spelling the word, best to keep to one:
addressed), Judgement,
examined is JUDGMENT
