That's a very interesting take on a poem and your idea of one. I think it's very cool this time I had to agree rhyming was important so I do both myself.
I find very different your approach to this and different is good luck with your submission. I find no issues with it per se as far as word choice, spelling and grammar is all good.
This is all kind of sad really cute. That couples feel this way and then we settle because we don't know how will do out there again in the single world so it's a gamble really. I enjoyed your submission very well look forward to reading your next one have a great day!

Good morning, John!
Hah!
I enjoyed and savored each and every one of your finely crafted 10 line poems - er... flash fiction pieces.
I especially appreciated your Grandmother's raviolis piece.
I enjoy the short prompts - if only to see if I can come up with something of worth in such a restrictive format...So, in that sense, they are worthwhile to attempt.
Thank you for sharing!

Lol. I'm not quite sure what this is! I thought it was supposed to be a ten word poem, but yours is a series of ten word snippets of life, each of which could be expanded into a story. I love the humour in your work. Witty - and yes, different and imaginative! A fun read.

Yeah, I?m not much on poems, so I turned to prose.
Thanks for stopping to read them.

I'm not much of a poetry fan, either. I don't mind reading good poetry, but I don't have the mindset to write poems. I found your ten-word flash fiction kind of cute.

Those are some great ten word stories. I think I like the second one the best. There is actually a website that sponsors a six word story contest.
One suggestion to consider:
'Todays daily prompt was to write a ten line poem.' I believe it should be 'Today's.' Also, I believe the prompt was a ten word poem.
As to your question, I think most prompts are poems simply because they take less time. Less time to write, and less time to review by the committee. You could sponsor a contest. Maybe a ten word story? I think you'd find lots of takers. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed that.

Well there you go! Ten words times four equals forty so that's a lot of humor and wisdom in four parts. My favorite is #3. Sounds a lot like StoryLand. LOL! I win a ton of those.
A delightful bit of smoking poke as we say in the south.
Blessings,
Sal :))

Hey John, there's a simple solution to that. If they don't specifically say that it must rhyme, just write what you want and call it a free-verse poem. All of those would qualify!
I thought they were terrific, by the way. Jim

I love it! You have expressed my guts!
Oh, and by-the-way (in order to satisfy the rules of my rant with respect to reviewing the writing and not the content), well-written.
I whole-heartedly agree. Unfortunately, FanStory seems to be a poet's paradise. (Either a poet's, or a home for boring chapter novels) I hope I didn't say that out loud.
I wish you'd've entered this in the rant contest.
"Then divorced'm." - This line cinched it. Touched my heart. I LOVE breakin' the rules!
Best wishes. Hope you don't get flakked.

I love your keen sense of humour. The second ten word flash fiction was so funny because often it becomes true. I appreciate your different approach to a challenge. Your thoughts were a joy to read. Jacqueline
