I so enjoyed this since I really miss driving, especially the country back roads where I could let her lose. Sending you my best today as always,

I'd sure like to be the one to run across that old truck filled with a million stories from the past. Thanks for sharing another fine post. .......................................

Hi Bill,
This 5-7-5 is witty and shows one way to stay out of traffic. This old truck does not look like it will get back on the road too quickly.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Yes --what a good idea ! getting away from the crowds and the noise and the traffic -and a great title to accompany - if only we could escape for a little peace and quiet !

Sometimes it's a one way trip.

Nice use of alliteration with the plosive sound of 'b'. Also the 't' sound with 'taking' and 'traffic'. Great choice of picture. That beat up truck or car looks at peace in nature.

-Good artwork and presentation, Bill.
-The syllable count is good, along with the topic.
-Effective imagery describes the scene well.
-I think that 'soon' might be stretching it a bit.
-As someone said, this would be a good contest entry.
-Thanks for sharing it.

Do like this IMHO as a very funny 5-7-5 post! The artwork is a terrific complement to your idea - overall presentation value - very good impression.

Your poem made me laugh. I know you're being sarcastic about being back on the road soon, but if my son-in-law, who owns a welding compary sees it, it might well be back on the road soon, He goes all over the country towing home vintage vehicles to restore. I love the picture.

Thank you, Beth. Carolyn Clark says it's her dad's old dairy farm work truck. Not sure where she's at.

Bill, This is a very well written 5-7-5 poem. You used very good descriptive words to go with the amazing art work. It doesn't look like that truck will be going anywhere! lol Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Teri

Great picture! When I used to drive in Boston traffic, I felt that I would be there long enough for grass to grow beneath my car. This should have been a contest entry. Clever and creative - surely a contender.
Best wishes,
Mary
