Country Comfort sounds like a hotel; but you mentioned Indians, so I am thinking it is a reservation of some kind. Probably as I read further into the next chapter, I will clarify my question.

Country Comfort was the family name for our farm. Appreciate the review.

All of us so different, as I've read along with "Unwanted Dog" I've come to realize so many similarities in our thoughts and experiences. Blue Jays are mean, but they need to eat too. I have six giant bird feeders out back, and three out front for the hummingbirds. Down by the creek I put out corn, sweet feed, and keep mineral and salt blocks for the deer, and of course all the other animals that join in. But if I were in a place like Country Comfort, It would probably turn into an all day experience. It's always a please to share in your writing.

Still the lifestyle I prefer. Just could never find anything better to top country living. Much obliged.

Hello Brett,
I can only imagine what a joy it was to be able to settle in to a place that you could finally call home, and to feel safe and provided for. That you had to endure what you did is unthinkable. How many others are facing similar situations that probably won't have the same good outcome as you? I'm looking forward to reading more.
Have a blessed evening.

So much better at Country Comfort than Hermitage Hall could ever have been. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. Appreciate the review.

I would just bet a kid like you thought he had died and gone to heaven when he saw that haven. How wonderful for you and God Bless Dusty. Well done Brett. Nancy:)

That sounds like a place of peace and harmony where your body and soul could be restores and at peace, after what you ahad been throuigh. I hope you go into more detail about how you got in with Dusty, how you adjusted to this new life. etc. It doesn't sound as though you went to school. I am intrigued, and would love to know more. Wellw ritten

There is a whole lot to be told yet. I may even detail some about my Master's Degree in Education and BA in Creative Writing. Who knows. Where the spirit leads, I suppose. Anyhow, appreciate your comments and the review.

That's good, I hoped you were just giving an interim chapter andd that you would fill in more. And I was sure that Dusty would have organised schooling, and all you needed.

Country Comfort sounds like a dream. I love the thought of a peaceful, off the beaten path hideaway. My father in law had a real affinity for birds. Would toss out feed and then sit with his coffee and have breakfast with them. Beautifully descriptive and I appreciated the history thrown in. Gretchen

I enjoy living at Country Comfort. Beats Hermitage Hall by far. Appreciate your insights and the review.

It's so good to be acquainted with someone who overcame their background to have the best of attitudes. Despite the way we've been treated, although that affects the very life we live, it doesn't have to affect the choices we make, we just have to think. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : Adequate description fit(s) me.

This post is very interesting because you put in a lot of the History of the place you were taken after you went to live Dusty. You also included some of the history of Nashville. I get the impression Dusty lived alone. I'm also wondering why you lived the one room log cabin. I found it ironic that i just learned of the Netflick series that will feature 10 episodes in around the Nashville area that weill be called "Country Comfort." Leanne Rhimes is one of the stars Are you in anyway involved. I'm impressed with you love of nature. That completely erases you dark side. LOL

I wish I had more sixes, so I could give you one. I love old houses with history. Most of the stuff around here burned down. Too much wood building. It took too much money to build with brick. There are a few rock buildings left. Thanks for the Hx lesson. Have a wonderful day. Shirley
