A genuinely moving and thought-provoking poem. I thought you structured your words to fit the criteria of this type of poetry, brilliantly. The last two lines of each stanza created an emotional build up for me, that was satisfied when brought home in the third stanza- it felt like an orchestral crescendo! Choosing a way to walk, avoiding tempting side roads, and continuing on despite uncertainties - Blind faith in a nut shell!

Your Baccresieze poem is thought-provoking as it takes faith to turn over the reins to God to lead. But as you show us, when we tried to lead our own lives, we really are unsure where we are going.

Hi Jim,
This poem seems to be one of doubt mixed with faith. The speaker knows he is being lead somewhere, but doesn't know exactly where. Though, I think he's sees booze is not on the right path

Joan, I think any vice that dampens the Light that shines from within is made manifest by losing an inner moral compass away from the Promise of Life Eternal.

What an interesting form! It's going on my list, and one day I will present it to the muse and beseech her help in attempting one!
Faith is a leap for most of us. We may well believe...but just where the path will take us depends a great deal on what barricades we put up for ourselves along the way!
