I'll admit, I lead a very sheltered life. What is this thing you are writing about. It sounds quite scary. Anytime money and sex are involved, all bets are off. Your poem shined a light on the underbelly of society. Scary stuff. Gretchen

Take a deep breath Gretchen. If you are not involved in any of the things I wrote about, just make sure you do not fall into any of those things and you should be alright.

Can definitely say I'm not involved. Thank you. I enjoyed reading your poem. Gretchen

Interesting poem about the sins of sex. I don't think sex has to be evil, depends in the situation. In your author notes you say you are not preaching but it does come across that way.
The rhymes and meter are not forced and they flow well.

the structure makes sense, it draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

Thank you for your review. Sometimes the only way to get a message across is to speak truth whether it hits home or come pass so close it cannot be ignored.

A strong message for us all this this powerful poem. The artwork fits the message perfectly.
We are on a slippery slope and it seems things are speeding up. Thankfully, we've read the end of the story and know "we win".

Blessings my friend.

How wise you are. So, even though we must work at our faith, it pays off in the end.

This is not "Preachy" in my opinion. It is a perceptive account of the demise of morality and the normalization of "destruction." We are well beyond the old slippery slope analogy, I fear. It is not enough to be silent and try to walk the righteous path. Ignoring our peril will be our downfall.

One "half" of the ship never sinks.

I wish... Still, I feel we are in the "Bacchanal" valley...

Your poem Bacchanal, is both dramatically told and very powerful.
No one escapes this life for free
especially not those who are forced to participate. I didn't think this was 'preachy', more informative and thought-provoking. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Outstanding. Thought provoking. I did not find your poem "preachy" at all. It tells the truth and smacks the reader in the face with it.

Ostentatious in it's delivery. A perfect, sobering read that was expertly composed. Thank you. Jacqueline

I think man is self destructive, his very nature condemns Him, or rather, us, I cannot distance myself from it, all of us caused Christ to go to the cross. Not Fred next door, but all of us. I can remember searching for a hero when I was, some partially filled that role, but only Christ was the perfect one. Beautifully written Nomi, good luck, blessings Roy

Thank you Bro. None of us can deny our guilt. We are all sinners. There is only one man who ever lived and died sin free. That was his purpose in coming to the earth. His mission was accomplished. His death was a victory for God, a defeat for Satan the Devil.

Yes, sir, our world is in a terrible state and just keeps sliding farther down the rabbit hole, morals a thing of the past. We have to question how much longer our actions will be allowed to resume. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your review. While I do not want to come off sounding self righteous, we are a mess. When God looks at us he cannot like what he sees. We are fortunate that he does not zap all of us right off the face of the Earth.

Your poem is well written and flows well. I enjoyed reading your poem. Your poem has strong images and metaphor describing how either the rich feel they can do anything, and have no consequences, or about prostitution. Your words are relevant to today's world. Last days are going to get worse before they get better. Thank you for sharing.
