I'm so sorry to learn of Cindy's aneurysm. The mother of my first daughter had a brain aneurysm that they were able to repair and she is still doing fine 40-years later. So, I'm wishing Cindy and you another miracle!

I appreciate your kind and caring heart. You have two great caregivers in David and in Cindy. What a scary thought to have to deal with an aneurysm. Saying a prayer for Cindy's healing and complete recovery. Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes I wish we could turn a hourglass on its side and leave well enough alone even for a small while because truth be told AGING sucks.
If it isn;t me breaking down, it's someone else dear to me.

So sorry to hear about your caregiver and hope she can be treated and recovers quickly.
You used an excellent metaphor with the untethered kite.

Wishing you the best.
Blessings

I'm so sorry that you (and Cindy) have more piled on your plate, as though you didn't have enough before. I'm hoping everything turns out all right. For what it's worth, my best friend was diagnosed with two brain aneurysms, one on either side. She gets checked regularly, for safety but, otherwise, she's living a perfectly normal life. I'll keep my fingers crossed it goes as well for Cindy and, of course, I'll keep her in my prayers.

I'm glad you chose to deal with your feelings through poetry. I've always found it a very calming force. I've always found that seeing the issue on paper helps me to make sense of it. When the thoughts are just floating around in my brain, they seem to come together in the most frightening ways but, on paper, they become doable or, at least, tolerable.

Separate from its psychological value, your poem is well-written, centered around a very descriptive simile and metaphor. It's honest, emotional, heartfelt and moving.

Just know that, no matter the circumstance, you will never be "unsupported" or "unloved."

When someone you care about is hurting or is ill, you of course feel compassion for them. You also feel inadequate because you know within yourself, that you are incapable of healing or curing them. To say and do the right thing can be very difficult because you do not know really what the right thing to say and or do is. You often wind up being as miserable or even more so. I will pray for your caregiver to get better soon for the sake of both of you.

No, not unsupported and unloved. I'm sorry about your carer. Perhaps they can do something about it? There are many caregivers out there you just have to put your hand up and don't be proud - ask for help. I have two carers a week, it pays not to get too attached to one. K XX

Great use of metaphor with the untethered kite representing your future right now. The narrator shows how much he depends on this woman to make him feel safe. And he cares enough to express his desire to help her get through her trauma.

I will pray for Cindy's recovery and for you to feel less anxious,
Jesse. The situation you described is so serious for her and so
unnerving for you. Your poem was well thought out with deep
feelings, good rhymes, and a clear message.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care, Jan
