Another fine poem, Jesse....and I feel your anxiety about losing someone you have come to have in your life. I hope for both your sakes she gets better soon.

The human experience is so sad and wonderful all at the same time. In a few words, you were able to describe a moment in time that I am certain many of us have been through once or twice. We just have to keep moving forward.

I applaud you for writing about your caregiver. Writing is therapeutic and putting thoughts into words is a release. Excellent poem that captures feelings and emotions. I wish all the best for Cindy.

Good morning, Jesse!
The imagery of an untethered kite, provided by the title of your exceptionally well-crafted poem, drew me in immediately.
Gut-wrenching to learn of your caregiver's challenges and how they impact you as well...
I, too, hope and pray that Cindy will be able to find the medical support she needs and that she will return to you whole and well.
Stay strong, Jesse!

Good morning to you, Diane!
I love that you were drawn to reading my post. The metaphor came to me while I was thinking about how lost I felt without her careful consideration of my well-being. Not that she doesn't care she is just unfocused thinking about her future and how it will affect both her and me.
Thanks for the wonderful extra stars!
You are a good friend and I love your support!

A moving poem, obviously written from the heart. The bond between carer and those receiving care is often extremely close. A threat to this relationship is devastating as this poem shows;

You write your heart out here, Jesse. What a frightening diagnosis! I'm thankful it was discovered ~ If discovered before "bursting" there are amazing success stories of surgical interventions to "clip" the weakness and ballooning so as to eliminate devastating consequences. I'm sure you are both being very supportive of one another...and that, my friend, is what this life is all about!

Yes, if anything this has brought us closer together. And as you say that is what life is all about! Thank you for sharing the different surgical interventions available to Cindy! I am sure she will appreciate hearing about them. And by the way, thanks for the extra stars!
They have really made my day!
Take good care of yourself, my friend!

You wrote a very nice poem about your feelings. I imagine Cindy is feeling the same, perhaps multiplied by ten! No wonder she is unfocused about her future. I hope her aneurysm can be treated and that she will soon be well, for both your sakes. Best wishes to you both.
