Hello, this is a 6 star poem but I only have 5 stars. I'm
so very sympathetic for your
loss. We lost my dear late
husband three years ago
unexpectantly. But, you and
we here in my family know
we live in the Lord, and we
will all be reunited with our
loved ones again. Many
blessings to you.

papa55mike, 'Dear Good' is so beautifully touching. You've touch a nerve with your writing, who hasn't been in Lucy's place. Grief brings us to our knees and God is the one who can lift us up. The font style is perfect for the story, it adds another layer to the reader's connection with your words. Congratulations!

Very touching letter. Thanks for sharing.
This was an excellent tribute to Brian.
I got a little confused, though. The 5th paragraph indicates the letter was written by Brian's wife.
Good luck in the contest.

This prayer to God tells a brief story that is sincere and heartfelt. When a God fearing family member who lived life caring for others, passes, we often wonder why. What I liked about your prayer is the fact that Lucy asked for God's help, and thanked God, before questioning God's will. I wish you the best in the contest.

That was a lovely letter to God, Mike, and so touching. It is so sad to lose someone you have loved for so long. Your fiction story reads like someone who knows grief well, it's how I felt after losing my husband. It's beautifully written, my friend, well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Sweet but tragic story. I firmly believe it is true as well, and well done at that. Good luck with your entry. I was surprised how many entries came to light when I posted this challenging contest.

Oh, my goodness! I had tears in my eyes throughout this prayer, Mike. How beautiful and touching this is. Sensationally timeless on its own and as compelling and warm as it is personal and sad. So,so gorgeous! Best, JohnC

I think your little post captures that terrible feeling of loss when you are present at someone's death. This is something you can understand only by going through it yourself. I went through it when my dad died, so I know this feeling of seeing someone take their last breath before your eyes. It is a sober, somber, draining moment. You often ask yourself 'why?" That was one thing i found missing in your narrative. You really juggle several feelings of things like 'well, he was old, he couldn't enjoy life anymore' and 'he was suffering', and also 'why did my father, who went to church every sunday, and gave so much to charity, have to suffer like this.' It really was a tortuous time for me. estory

I wish you had posted this on Sunday. I would have had a six to bestow. It richly deserves a six. This was heartfelt and beautiful. I liked how the description She gave was so oriented around the Godly type of man he was. This was an excellent submission. Gretchen
