Haha, what a fun contest entry, Mystery Author.
I enjoyed reading it. Your words were descriptive
with great rhymes and very informative. I could
follow the fellow on his trek. What a fun ending
to finally see a leprechaun. The picture paired
nicely with your poem.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Thank you for committing your comments to this poem. The exercise provided much enjoyment writing about my land of birth and the folk lores I heard.

Like, "Suddenly, I saw the Leprechaun! With brass buckles on his shoes." That's what St. Patrick's Day is; dancing the Irish jig, drinking green beer and having good luck while you're spinning the slots at a casino. Winning the Leprechaun jackpot.

Smiles abound with all the whimsy of another St Pat4icks day come and gone.

A rollicking read. A humurous poem and a fun way to start my day. Thank you.
May I ask, what does the word bog mean to you? I know what it is in Australia. I believe your word bog may have another connotation.
I think we all may have had a few too many brews at particular times in our life and seen imagined beings. A fantastic conclusion to your write.

Jacqueline, a bog is a marshy wetland area that is covered with plants and mosses squish, like a wet carpet. The soil underneath the surface and the mosses form peat, which can be used for roofing material.

Thankyou.

That Dew is good stuff, huh? Well, that is one way to see a leprechaun. You seem to have had a lovely vacation biking across a part of Ireland that sounds really interesting.

This poem, My Search for a Leprechaun, takes the readers on a jolly jaunt across Ireland to stop in at a public house to get sloshed to the degree that a leprechaun will easily appear. Funny.

Thank you, Sir Bill!

You have a great grasp of all things Irish! I still can not figure out if Leprechauns are good guys or bad guys but I'd still like a a little of their gold.
I may have tried dark green on the font, but that's just my two cents.
Very nice work here.

Thanks Doug, The leprechaun is a mischievous and stingy little sprite.
Comment from Terry Broxson
I must admit I do have an Irish heritage, although it has been many years since they came over from the old country. My red hair, what is left of it, is a giveaway. Your poem flows with a rich Irish flavor. Good luck in the contest. I think after a few dews. I would see the little fella myself. Very well done. Terry.

Terry, smiling back, a certain Colleen to be sure with red locks.
Comment from Anne Johnston
Great rhyming and a very interesting story for this St. Patrick's day Contest. I like the picture you have chosen and the bright colours that match the subject you have written about. My ancestors were from Ireland, so I always put Irish down as my ethnic background.

As I've often said, when it comes to poetry, I wouldn't know a sonnet from sorbet. But even an untrained ear can read and enjoy the rhyme, meter, and verses they can't write. To be touched my another's sensitivities.
Thanks for sharing.
