Lichen covers the tundra in Alaska and the rainbow colours are beautiful.

Lichen is the main source of food for squirrels, deer reindeer, moose, caribou, and musk oxen.

I have seen lichen in my pine forests ..this organism protects trees and rocks from harsh elements: rain, wind, and snow.

And provides food to birds , deer and rodents and material to build nests in Spring!

I enjoyed the topic of your poem .. shame you didn't provide a title.

This is a good 5-7-5 entry about nature. The text is a great size, and I like it being a color. The message is clearly stated and easy to understand. Your last line puts movement in your short piece. It's great! Your entire presentation is well done. The visual fits well. Good luck in the contest.

I know zilch about slugs, except as a pejorative for some male references. Moss and lichen I have seen in the forest (-;
