Excellent poem about words.
The rhymes and meter are not forced and they flow well.
the structure makes sense, it draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

Words are so much; they can hurt, they can heal, they can show you that which you cannot see on your own. You always inspire with your pieces. This is another wonderful one.

You are absolutely right, especially regarding the English language which has a wonderfully diverse vocabulary which is ever expanding! Your words always remain to be re-read and enjoyed!

Hello Jay,
You certainly know how to use your "words" in a beautiful heart-warming poem.
Your poems seem to always offer your readers not only something great to read but they are also educational.
Take care Jay....Bill

Hi Jay,
This poem in sonnet format talks how important words are and how whether we use them or not, they still have power.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

You have expressed the importance of choosing our words wisely. Words can be encouraging, be a blessing, or be hurtful. Mainly, words shows the world who we are. Your words in rhyme provide and excellent observation and message. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hi Jay, if anyone makes good use of their words, you most certainly do. You bring smiles to people around the globe and inspire them as well.
This poem reads and flows well, and your message is clear.
Of special note:
They teach us how to say ''I love you''.
They show how to make friends.
They give us strength and dry our tears,
(Indeed, they do all of the above.)
And so, today, I'll heed your words and remember what you say.
Well done. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

This poem, Our Words, provides the important reminder to readers that we need to speak and write what we want to project to the world. No mind readers out there.

Good morning, JayBird,
I've had a love affair with words since I was a small child. My grandfather did as well - stuffing scraps of paper with new words written on them into his favorite books. How I treasure those gifts from him.
Your well-crafted poem resonates with me.
Thank you for sharing!

I wish I had thought of writing a poem about words. Maybe I will and try not to steal your thunder, Jay. This was a great idea, and you have done a good job with it.
